Has anybody noticed whether the "ST10" and the "TMS320" were both upgraded or just the "TMS320" to the 8.9?  I didn't have any problems when I did the last upgrade, but now only the "TMS320" has upgraded and not the  "ST10".  Any thoughts? [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

Hmm....didn't pay that much attention to it....

I'll explain a little further.  When you look at the software versions, there are 2, a ST10 and a TMS320.  The last update updated both to 7.8.  This new one only seems to update the TMS320, though there appears to be a update file for the ST10 in the download.  I do the update, everything seems to be going fine.  After the initial power off, the radio seems to switch modes (the display is different) and it reads something like "DSP Updating 0%" and "Enabling communications ICM".   After a little bit, the CD ejects and there's an error message along the lines of "incorrect CD".  The radio then switches back to FM mode.  If I check the software versions, the TMS is 8.9, while the  ST10 is still 7.8.  Any thoughts?  I've tried burning the CD 3 different ways, all with the same results.

I downloaded the file(s) but for some reason it is not wanting to load to a CD.  So I am back at the beginning.  I am running XP.

I have two files sitting in a TEMP file.  Do these have to be unzipped?  THey are not automatically doing so when I try to open them.

Can someone take me from the two files in a defined temp file and walk me to it being on a CD?  I tried with my Apple machine and didn't very far either.  :-/

Do you have 2 files- 1)HD_TMS320_8_9_0.upg  (upg file 768kb) and 2)st10_tms320_bootloader_8_9_0 (BIN file, 258KB)?  If you have both of these, then you can burn them to your CD using what ever CD software you've got.  Roxio came with my Dell and it works fairly well, though I'm not sure everything is currently upgrading- see my earlier posts.  Anyway, just burn these to your CD and do your upgrade.  As long as you have gotten to the 2 files, then that's all there is.

On your Xp Machine do you have any CD burning software installed? Example Roxio you need to uncrompress the zip files (XP will do this) then Save the uncompressed files to your desktop (Only for ease in finding them) then burn your two files at 8x to your cdR or Cdrw. Your CD burner may be set to high most nowadays are 48x or faster.

If you are unable to get it, I can snail Mail you my copy of the CD upgrade that I used and know that it works.

I did two burns using iMac and it did not load.  The XP burn was good.  The update gives a constant progress line.  If you see "verifying DSP image" and it doesn't release in secs then burn another copy.

Thanks for your help.  I did verify the ver was updated but I did not see a lot of difference.  I will look for the changes already mentioned above.  Thanks again.

Did my upgrade over the weekend...had the same problem with the CD ejecting and only seeming to down load half of the update.  When it ejected the second time I tried and simply pushed it back in and it began to update and eventually I got a SUCCESSFUL! message in the screen.  My experience any way... :P

Well, I did mine, as it didn't say it wasn't for HDI models, and it went fine. Only difference I see immediately is that the MP3 data shows.   I STILL can't see the Bluetooth unit though :-(  Whether it's fixed the CB problem I don't know as I need to find someone with a CB to see, and there's noone local, so I guess that'll be next weekend.

I tried 3 times over the weekend and I still can't get it to run the whole program. I have burned 3 different discs. Each one starts to load. It gets to about 80%, then the screen goes blank and starts to cycle on and off. The radio will not respond to any commands . After about 10 minutes of that I turn the ignition off. The screen still cycles on & off. I have to pull the maxi-fuse and let it sit for about 5 minutes before I can get it to eject the CD. Anybody have any clues?? I have checked all CD's after burning and both files are on the disc. >:(

What speed have you used to burn the disc?  (8X or slower) Only other suggestion (Not being a Smart A$$) Would be to see your Dealer.

I downloaded the update over the weekend and burned a CD using Nero with Win XP.  Followed the directions and it went through perfectly the first time.  Now shows 8.9 as the version.  The only thing I saw was that the radio only shuts down and restarts 1 time, not 2 like the instructions say.

I burned 3 discs at 8X the first 2 times and 4X the last time. No luck with any of them. [smiley=nixweiss.gif]
