Anybody tried removing the deflectors on a Road Glide Ultra? Curious if the difference in airflow with the frame mounted fairing has a different effect.

I have a 2012 CVO Ultra and removed my deflectors after reading this thread. I too was having wind buffeting around my face and lifting my helmet at highway speeds. It seemed to help. It seemed to smooth out the air flow. My helmet stays put so far. I will put more miles on it this weekend.
 On my 06 ultra it had the round wind deflector in front of the tank mounted to the back of he forks. My 2012 does not. That may be the area of my wind problem. I don't know if they make that deflector for the 2012s, if they do i think i will get one and try it out.
