So I have a 2006 ultra now. i took a new 2012 cvo ultra out for a scoot. I really liked it as if there is nothing to dislike about it.
OK the price is what I do not like got the stealership down to the 36 and change. But I just can't get past the sticker shock.
What was you deciding factor that got you to pony up the cash??? Thank hope this was posted in the right place..
You're trying to be logical/rational about a bike purchase...that in itself is not logical

IMO, purchasing a bike is more of an emotional thing...the bike either "speaks" to you, or it doesn't. 36+K is a rediculous amount of money to spend on a motorcycle, but you only live once (that I know about), and there are worse things to throw money away on. Buying a "regular" (non CVO) HD and putting 8K worth of "stuff" on it is, in the long run, worse than going ahead and coughing up the bucks for what you
really want in the first place. You'll never even come close to getting what you've invested in the "regular" model because it'll always be a "regular" HD with regards to book value, regardless of what you've done to customize it to your liking. I learned a long time ago to go on and get what I really wanted, if I could afford to do so, instead of trying to settle and not be 100% satisfied...it always cost me more in the long run to "settle". That has been true for all things I don't really NEED, just WANT...cameras, backpacking gear, skiing stuff, fishing equipment, etc. I can make do with a lesser car/truck because the "fun factor" wears off quickly, but a motorcycle is fun every time I get on it. That's my opinion, anyway...or my rationalization.
