Wouldn't it be nice to have a choice if you don't want the holes?   That's all I was meaning.
You do have a choice, you can get the Street Glide with the fairing mirrors, or the Electra Glide with the handle bar mirrors... ;)

The holes in fairing really bother me.   That's why I think they should be sold as an accessory.  What's another hundred bucks anyway?  :nixweiss:

Here is an idea we used, I became acquainted with a group opf S.G. riders, and somewhere along the way someone purchased a spare inner fairing so that is in circulation among us, so you just use the spare, have it pluged at your paint shop you use is that is your decision, and give your old one to the group for the next S.G. to use it.
The one I used had the hole, I also went to H.B. mirrors, had the inner fairing painted to match bike,...... you cannot tell the hole was ever there.

Thats a great idea!  Look on ebay for a takeoff from someone who has changed their bars/mirrors and purchased a new inner without holes.  Maybe you can get it for cheap have the holes filled and painted!  Brilliant

I know. It's an idea.   You have any idea what it takes to change out an inner fairing ?  A lot.  Big job. I really didn't feel like taking the whole bike apart.

Or trade a member on here that has one without the holes and is looking for one that has the fairing mounted mirrors.....like I did. :2vrolijk_21:

Why don't you try riding with the mirrors for awhile and see if you get used to them.  If you've never had them before, they do take a little getting used to. Once I got used to mine, I actually like them better than the handle bar mounted ones.  Ya just never know.  ;)

I'll try that.  I am in the keys for new years and I rode down with my wife on the ole seeg.  I don't have a tp yet for the sg.  Ahh. Those nice wide hb mirrors.    I'll try getting used to those.   >:(

And he probably still works there.  Typical for a dealership. :confused5:

I was browsing and found this tidbit,,,  FLHX and models with fairing mount mirrors require separate purchase of handlebar-mounted mirrors and Fairing Plugs P/N 732 (qty 2) and 755 (qty 2)'

Granted it was in the information for a set of handle bars but still, it shows that harley makes them, now just wondering if they have a picture.  :coolblue:
