Easyriders Bike Show, Sacramento 1/14/12
« on: January 15, 2012, 03:47:30 AM »

Several members of this forum rolled in last night....Ron came in from Concord, Mark came in from L.A. and Michael and Michi rode in from Fremont and San Jose.    They are all staying here at our home for the weekend.

We rode downtown to Buckhorn Grill for a tri tip dinner, then rolled on over to the Torch Club.  It was already packed to standing room only and the band doesn't start playing for another hour.  Shane Dwight Blues Band was just what we all needed.   A lot of laughing and kickin up our heels to some great blues and having a good time in general.

We came on back out to the house and eventually we all retired to our rooms for the evening.  We got up this morning and rode down to the Sacramento Convention Center at 9:00 a.m.

We found our preferred parking, got our tickets and walked over to the Capital Garage restaurant for breakfast where Mark and Michael were friendly with the waitress.....

After a good breakfast, we walked back to the convention center.  Even thought the bike show hadn't opened yet, the streets of Sacramento were already begining to fill with bikes....

and of course there were the token Hooters girls....

Finally.....the doors opened and the line gradually worked it's way around the block and through the metal detectors and eventually through the doors.  We have arrived.

Two distinct styles became immediatly clear to me.  The big wheel look that has become popular over the past couple of years and the ol' school look.  And there are plenty of examples of both styles...

Not much of a seat but hey.....it's the look good at all costs! :2vrolijk_21:

and many of you will recognize this bike as the world's fastest bagger...

and talk about the "copper top" or duracell.....

Take a look at the back wheel....

and a big wheel from Paul Yaffee....

and the supposed Easyrider movie bikes...

Paul Yaffee's version of a CVO....

and for those of you wanting the SE Street Glide look on the back of your SE Ultra Classic.....Paul Yaffee has answered the call.  He has a fender, lights and recessed license plate area all one piece.  It is a very clean looking application and the price is certainly right!   You can get the fender, LED lights for approx. $1,600.......a whole lot cheaper than comperable OEM parts from the MoCo.

you can see a very tiny LED light in the upper corners of the license plate frame....about the size of a pin head....

Another interesting item that Yaffee has came out with is the hidden LED run/turn light.  The first pic is of the fairing with the ignition turned off....the second pic is the running light on and the third pic is the turn signal flashing....

And speaking of the ol' school "look"....

and like any good bike show.....there was a beavy of young babes....

and Arlen Ness was there....

and if you can believe what you read, there was this bike....

there were definately bikes of all types....

another interesting and new product...for Road Glides....rear view mirrors of a different sort.  This set up also has built in running/turn signal LED lights that are plug n play with the stock harness and is by Aero View Motor Sports....  http://www.aeroviewmotorsports.com/

and just outside of Sacramento, here, too.....

and yet another interesting and different thing....funeral services by Alta Vista....

bikes for guys of all sizes....

more ol' school.....

Going to stop here for tonight.  I'll try to post more tomorrow.  In the mean time, may Mark, Jon or Michi will post some of the pics they took..... :nixweiss:

Very nice.   I'd like to see more pics of that trike with the trailer.

They're going to sell a few of those rear fender conversions...

The hypocrisy was  "security". The cops made a big show of searching for weapons complete with magnetometer wand. They would not allow any weapons inside, even small pocket knives. This held up the whole entrance  process.Yet once inside you could buy all manner of knives from switchblades to the Rambo style Bowie knives. Hell one insurance broker was even giving away knives. I got two free pocket knives that were better than the one I had to check in.  Even the ladies booth was selling those high voltage electric stun guns.

I couldn't take it any longer and had to stop and ask two officers on foot patrol. Officer V. Wong agreed and said it made no sense. He went on to say that all they could do was keep security. The weapons being sold or given away were all part of the vendors which was something they had no control of.

Money talks even in the face of safety and common sense.

This bike is very similar in style, to the bike(s) I was riding before my first bagger.  All my road dogs thought I went off the deep end when I traded my stripped down 86 Heritage stroker with bars to the stars for an 89 Ultra Classic. ;D

Terrie and I are really glad that we got to spend this weekend with our friend Mark, before he goes over seas to a far off country on a secreat mission of playing in the dirt.  Mark.....this one's for you!

Man, I must have accidentally turned the VR off......to many of these pics look like an old man took them. :huepfenlol2:

Another interesting item for the RG owners (why are all the mods for RGs this year?).....a powder coated wire mesh headlight screen for the stealth look.  I have to say, this looked better in person than it does in this pic....

This bike had an incredable amount of engraving.....I wouldn't want to have to be the one to clean it after a ride....

When I bought the Gerbing eXtreme Element pants and jacket Terrie told me "you have the look....might as well get a BMW now....".  How does the new 1600 fit me?

Look again.......at the back half, then the front half.  What kind of car is this?   I see Caddy....

the side.....I see Chevy

the front.....I see Olds :nixweiss:

It was very long.....reminded me of one of the ZZ Top cars....

Another very interesting project.  It's a small bike with a small price tag.  Street legal and he said it has a cruising speed of 65 mph.  I lost the info. sheet but if I remember correctly, it's 249 CC's.   Could be a starter bike for a kid or a lady.....very small and light weight....Terrie said it felt like she was on a bicycle.

and other styles....

This girl modeled her "biker" converse shoes for us.....while her father had the standard converse that we're all familiar with.  :huepfenlol2:

We ran into a couple more of the Nor Cal krew there.....Don & Soozie...

You're welcome! :2vrolijk_21:   It's for you and others that don't get to make it to these kinds of shows that I do these photo journals.  For those of us that go often....well..... :nixweiss:

Thanks for posting the pics JCZ...it snowed here today in the "snow belt", so seeing people on their Harley's riding to a custom bike show, well, that just gets me "jazzed up" for spring and riding again! :orange:

Thanks for the pics JC. Am I the only one who does not like the really hugh front wheel? Ness Street Glide rear fender looked real nice, I liked that. Oh goes without saying the girls were "HOT".
