I thought I escaped the issue until the other day. I cycled thru the AM/FM/ IPOD buttons a bunch of time before it came back. Probably a good 30 miles. Not happy. Hope their is a fix. Any one know what the MOTO CO says? Are they ignoring the issue?

My 2011 FLTRUSE does the same stinkin thing.  I guess at 36 grand they can't make a descent interface with the I-Pod.  I've tried my I-Touch and it does the same thing.

I still think its the ipod unit and it's fit to the plug. At least I believe that's my issue becasue I use that Ipod in my car during the winter and I have a connectivity problem in the car too using the adaper plug.  I change cars every 4,000 miles so its not the car or the plug.

Here is the link to the software version verification instructions, and the software download if your radio needs it.

http://www.harley-davidson.com/en_US/Content/Pages/Genuine_Motor_Accessories/advanced-audio-system.html?WebLogicSession=P1TjDzmKp1gpPhkzS9bW9ns611nIMiuw7PiIkkFxs9r4AdV3GpH4!149860580!hiwpbmsp03.ihd.hd!7005!8005&locale=en_US&bmLocale=en_US

I checked my bike for grins - it's at the 3.80.  Looks like they haven't updated the instructions since 2010, so I imagine we all have the latest software.

I know this is a bit of an older thread, but thought I would throw my hat in the ring.  I too have the same problems as stated above.  Sometimes when turning the bike on I get no tunes until I cycle through the input sources.  At times the Artist and song playing don't match.  On occasion I have to repeatedly toggle the track select knob on the right housing to move to the next track.

I hate this appears to be a common problem, but I am a bit happier knowing its not just my bike....LOL  I've been stressing over it for a while now.  I do hope that there is some type of firmware update released as I know HD is aware of the problem.  Even my sales guy has the same problem.

I think part of the problem is that the Ipod's get software updates continuously.  Anyone that has worked with code, knows that a simple change can throw a cat into the fan blade.  I guess we can't expect HD or HK to continuously update their software - but it is annoying.

????? They built the system that is suppose to work with the IPod --- so they should keep up with what ever updates that are required. We did not spend the kind of money that we all did, to have problems continually. I can not remember any one  from the MOCO warning me that my IPod might not work properly one week after buying the unit.

I would have to agree.  Especially considering that the MoCo goes to pretty good lengths in the manual to almost boast about how the nano was thoroughly tested and matched to the HK system.

Mine nano will also do the same thing. I guess it's something else we'll have to live with...

If the MoCo doesnt want to fix this issue, I wonder what would happen if we all started complaining about it to Apple. I bet if their precious ipod was getting flamed out in public they would work out a fix.

I doubt if they'd give a hoot.  They are as arrogant as the MoCo, and the problem, after all, is not with their product at all, it's with crappy firmware written by a third party company for the third party company's own product.

I didn't have a issue for the first month. Than one day it didn't play when I started the bike. Rode 2000 miles down and back from Daytona and it didn't miss a beat. I thought for sure with the bike being turned on and off it would have had some issue. Don't understand it. Do the have a fix or do we just have to deal with it?

We just have to live with it, until - or unless - the Moco fix it with a firmware upgrade.

I think we will be waiting on Harmon Kardon to upgrade the firmware for the head unit.  Can't imagine MoCo gives a rat's ass, or Apple either - they will both be pointing in unison towards Harmon Kardon.
