I've been away from this thread for awhile. I have had no issues with the VP-70T on Buster.

Howsomever... my 54H cams don't really even come in until around 2700 RPM, and by that engine speed the VPC is fully extended and will lock the clutch up solid as soon as I engage it... with a not-so-nice little wheelie if I get TOO aggressive. I've done that 3 times, actually... it's a little scary to wheelie a SESG.

My "blasts" that Jeremey referred to are always made with the engine cranking at least 2500 RPM or more before I engage the clutch. If I don't crank the engine like that, with my setup there would BE no "blast"! 54Hs and my Drago's S/C/S-4 aren't exactly low-RPM torque hardware...

BTW - there is a NEW product coming to market soon that is designed specifically to reduce the clutch pull effort. Beta testing of this product has been going quite well - showing about 40% reduction in clutch pull. It will be considerably simpler and less $$$ than the AIM VPC, and will be a quick and easy install. I'm sorry, but I can't say anything any more specific than that right now - I have agreed to not divulge any details until the product hits the market. Hopefully it will be on the market in maybe a month or two. I've seen it, and it's pretty cool. It's not a racing device - but for you guys with heavy springs or issues with a left hand grip, it's a simple 10 minute bolt on.

When it comes out I'll post a link. If I didn't already have the VP-70T on Buster and my wife's Tri Glide, I would seriously be considering this new product.

You heard it HERE FIRST!

Thanks NGH

I was almost ready to pop for the VP-70T.  I dont really have an issue with the clutch unless Im stuck in traffic or mainstreet Daytona. I will wait until this new product comes out then decide.

Thanks again

The dude who DESIGNED it is, Howard! And he knows that I know what he would do to me if I say any more until he tells me that I can. Whew... I think that came out right. I ran what I posted by him before I posted it, and he was OK with it.

Seriously though - I expect that this new product is going to be great for a lot of people. The beta testers all seem to be happy, nothing has broken, it's very simple, and it will cost a lot less than the VPC!  :2vrolijk_21:

Buster will keep his VP-70T - but Beyonce has an older VP-67T (superseded by the 70T) and the disk on those was made of 6061 aluminum and has been known to bend and stop giving the pull reduction after several thousand miles. So Beyonce may be getting one of these new thingies eventually.  :coolblue:

Hi guys and gals I was talking to tamachi couple of days ago.He told me that the 70T is been replaced into 68T .same price but at the final he came up with a additional $ 35,00 for a spacer which will be needed for the CVO`s .Believe or not, >:( but is this just the way to make a little more money  >:( maybe someone out there has a idea what to do,buy it, or wait for a similar clutch lever.
I am really not a cheapy , but i told the guy up front that my order will be for a CVO .
Thanks for your help

Click on the attached file, it explains the clearance issues with different clutch inspection (derby) covers, and on page four there is a template you can use to determine if your particular cover requires a spacer.  Several people on this site have posted this year about installing one of the VPC's on their CVO's, and I don't remember them mentioning a need to use a spacer. :nixweiss:

Anyhow, use the template to measure your cover and you can eliminate the guesswork.

Jerry

edit:  If you print the template, check with a ruler to make sure your version of Adobe Reader doesn't print it out at a different size.  For instance, I had to set mine to "shrink to printable area" to get the actual dimensions to match what's printed on the template.

Geez...my mechanic that installed mine never said anything about a space issue.  :nixweiss:  He stated that everything fit nicely and per the instructions supplied with the VP70.

I wrote this in another thread. Hate to post it twice but it's important.

Ken...

The CW may not work on CVO touring bikes as of yet. Too much spring tension loss on the pressure plate and may cause clutch slippage. This is more geared for people that ride easy and have issues with their hand strength like me.

Softails, Dyna and Tri Glides work fine if you are less than 100 HP/100 TQ. Touring bikes just don't have enough spring pressure. Now, if you have a 400 lb + spring it should be fine. Got a guy with a 480 AIM spring and a plus 1 clutch with a 120 in his Ultra that smokes the rear tire. Has nerve damage in his hands and can pull that 480 with two fingers now.

Anyway... I know the rules about advertising.... will stop now. Just wanted to give a caution here.

You're a good friend Ken... thanks but I must respect the site rules though.

Dante... I can call and stop the order if you want. Just send me a PM.

I'm a straight up sort and if it won't work on your bike I'll be the first to step up and tell you.

Installed the 68T without a spacer and everything works great.  Wife is very happy with it on her CVO AND the guys at AIM were great!!!!!!!  Big reduction in force, may be below a stock cable, but a bigger pull at higher RPMs. :orange: :mango:

What is the % in pull difference?  I installed the VPC 70. In my SG and I am very happy.
