bearcat1,

First, I hope you resolve you seat issues, it sucks to pay what we did for our bikes and have comfort issues!

I had an 09 and 10 SG with no back, neck or problems with the "twins" (I put on 20 to 25,000 miles a year).  Soon after I bought my 11 Krypto I did notice the bar/arm position was different, BUT the SESG seat was light years above the stock 09,10 seats.  I too developed the neck/back burn and felt I was crowding the tank!  I watched this forum for some time before deciding to install the WO575s (no longer hoses needed).  WOW now Im back to a comfortable position again.  It may be you are leaning forward to reach the bars just that small amount that bothers you.

Again, just MHO good luck
Wayne

Thank you Wayne.  I've been thinking real hard about changing out the bars.  Still on the fence but could fall off soon towards changing the bar side...

JCZ, pictures would be great just to have a look see.

I'll try to get pics tonight of both seats (side shot and looking straight down), from the same perspective, on both bikes this evening. :2vrolijk_21:

Man - I guess I REALLY lucked out with the Corbin DualTour I got for cheap on here. It fits me perfectly. Seems every Corbin is different. I wonder what Mean City Cycles could do for you.

I had a Corbin on my old '95 FLHTP that was hard as a rock and made my legs numb after an hour in it. Sold it for $300 on FleaBay and replaced it with a Mustang Regal on that bike, and it was heaven. My wife loved the Mustang as a BSR too, because it was nice and wide and slightly higher at the front than the rear - so she didn't slide into me all the time.

The DualTour I have on Buster now is awesome for me, but my wife HATES riding 2-up with me on it. The rear part of the DualTour is small and very firm, and slants forward so she's back to the sliding into me on it. I have a big cushion for it that helps, but it doesn't cure the forward slant of the rear seat. The "fix" for now is a H-D Hammock seat I also bought on here. It's much better for her, but I hate riding on it... the neck is far too wide for me, and it sits me up uncomfortably high.

I'm thinking about buying a used Ultra seat for two-up rides. Gotta keep Momma happy back there... for some reason she's been having pretty bad left shoulder pain that may be arthritis - so she hasn't been riding her Tri Glide Beyonce much lately.

Yes sir, I looked real close at the stitching on your Corbin seat when I was trying to decide what to go with on mine.  I finally settled on the same flame pattern you have but went with the black stitch.  It looks really nice.

I've read quite a bit about Mean City Cycles on here but not really sure exactly what it is that they do and their relationship to Corbin.

Basically, Mean City fixes seat problems. I don't think they have any relationship to any manufacturer. I've not had to use them myself - but I know a number of people who have, some multiple times for different seats, and all of them seem very happy with Mean City's work.

The uplostery shop I use in Farmington builds his own bracket just like the corbin and attaches it to the stock seat pan. He builds the back rest and uses the same square stock as cobin. It is removeable and adjustable. He can reinstall the stock seat cove with a little alteration or reuploster it any way you want. Very good work and good price.

I have had Corbin's for the last 16 years but when I got my new SERGC a few months ago I was turned on to the Danny Grey. It is by far much superior to the Corbin I currently have on my other bike. I went with the Air Hawk solo with the drivers backrest. Customer service has been fantastic (did end up with a slight issue with the backrest and they killed themselves to make it right) and quality the best I have seen (though quality wise, my Corbin's have also been great). The Air Hawk system makes it also the most comfortable seat I have ever been on as well. They do cost more then a Corbin but in this case you definitely "get what you pay for". Sherry at DG is incredibly knowledgeable and will hand walk your deal all the way thru.

Beautiful seat! I've read about the Danny Grey Air Hawk seats. Nice to hear from someone who actually rides on one that they are as good as their website says they are.

Wow, sounds like a little more than an upholstery shop if they make the entire backrest setup.

Yes, that's a nice looking seat man.  I can tell I already like how the nose fits up on the tank console better than the new Cobin's do.  I'm not overly fond of high up and squared off the Corbin is on the tank console.

So can I ask you exactly how the "Air Hawk" system works?  Also, do you feel that the Danny Grey sits you back like most Corbin's do and not cramped forward?

Hey San Diego, one other thing also, I can see your fender pads in your picture that you posted so I am assuming that you are able to mount the passenger pillion with no interference from the fender pads?

Thanks

Sorry Bearcat, just saw your question. There is a pump and a release (a la Nike shoes...) built in to the left side lower of the seat. Can adjust on the fly which is very nice on long stretches between stops. Does sit you back just a tad from stock but close...
