Are we a flock of stupid sheep just following the Harley marketing people? 95th anniversary, 110 anniversary, Who cares!! Do you fall for this crap from any other mfg?

I think I've been commenting on that for several years now. And yes, many of Harley's customer's are basically sheeple who buy into anything that emanates from the ivory tower in Milwaukee. It's the only reason Harley has survived and made lots of bucks over the past couple decades; people buying into hype and lifestyle, and paying way too much for products of questionable real value.
Most companies celebrate the big milestones like 50 or 100 years, but Harley now thinks they can con the folks every 5 years. And the sheeple seem to agree. Look at a thread that was started recently about a CVO Anniversary RG Custom that's currently on ebay. The bike has an MSRP of $34k, and this guy bought it and immediately put it on ebay and the high bid was well over $40k last time I looked. Made a big issue that it was #001 out of 900. BFD!
The anniversary models all cost $1000 more than the regular models, and you get a little badge along with a different paint job. Whoop-de-doo! And then of course you have the anniversary motorclothes Harley is pushing in their current emails and ads, and I'm sure we will see a lot of other overpriced "anniversary" crap being pushed throughout the year as well.
Thankfully I don't personally care about Harley's anniversaries, so I won't be one of the sheeple wasting money on all the hype. For those who do, we will probably see threads in a few years from them complaining about how that super special anniversary model has lost resale value just like the regular models. And of course those same folks will also be first in line for the new 115th anniversary model, for which they will pay too much again. Duh!
