10 am this morning at low tide. It has gotten a little worse since then.

At low tide water was over hwy 12 on Hatteras Island

This one seems to be on par with the deadly four we had Halloween 91 (Perfect Storm), Jan 92, Dec 92 Nor'easter, Mar 03 "Storm Of The Century"

Us lucky ones north of Del Bay get the added bonus of being in the northeast quadrant of wind.

Water is completely over hwy12 that is the only road to Hatters Island. If you did not evacuate before now you are stuck there till the water recedes.

I lived on the coast most of my life.  I dont miss it at all.

24 hours since last pic at same place. Low tide. Wind is now out of the North so not pushing more water over the dunes and onto the road

This limb is in my neighbors yard. It is over 10" in diameter. Winds have only been up to 60kts

So  don't park your trucks under trees.....unless you want another truck :huepfenlol2:
