TNT, I just did a very quick search for a previous post of JC's and couldn't find it.

I've pretty much lost track of how many had some kind of trouble with the Hogtunes relative to how many actually have them.  I can think of four or five names that had problems and some with multiple problems.  But not even a clue as to how many overall have the units installed.  Both for Pez' benefit and for ours going to add a poll to this thread to attempt some idea of what the numbers and failure ratio among our group might be.

Guys

I apologize I havent been here for some time--I lost my Mother and had to travel. Regarding our failure rate, it stays at about 3%, which for an audio product is very good. I have dealt with any service issues as honorably as possible, and as quicly as possible. I have not read any of the posts yet, but I wanted people to know some things may have been taken out of context. Am I working on an upgrade--YES! I believe it is our responsibility to constantly try to make the product as good as possible--and in this case, it is an attempt to eliminate the 3%.

I firmly believe we have a good product--and I would rather send all the inventory to the landfill before I knowingly sold something bad. If anyone is unhappy, I will offer a full refund, as I always have.

My absence from the site may make things look bad for me, but given the circumstances, I hope you can understand I had to travel, only to find it difficult to get online at my families place out west.

Im a straight shooter, and will always do the right thing. If anyone wants to email me, my email is info@hogtunes.com. I sincerly hope my absence hasnt made anyone nervous about my integrity, and I hope we can get any issues sorted out so we can all move forward.

Hey all

I have had a chance to read some of the posts now, and I would like to thank those who appreciate we are on their side----says alot about the good group of people on this site!

Although our overall percentage of failure is small, it appears, a high portion of that failure could be in the SE bikes---I would like to thank those who reply to the poll-I do consider this for our benifit--and look forward to final results to make sure. When orders come in, we do not see what model of bike they will be used on. All the pretesting I did was on an 02 Ultra, and a large home audio reciever. I have my "boys" on the line to make Hogtunes work, and I am determined to get any issues sorted out--please do not take this as being coy--but our company is only 6 months old, and I attribute this to growing pains--precisely why we take it on the chin and immediatly send out  replacements without delay or questions asked.

The modified speakers we are working on have a small change in them--in the event there is a failure of our current product, a set of the modified ones will be sent, or a refund offered. I believe the small percentage of people with issue will not have issues with the modified speaker. Since I dont repair the speakers, I do not ask people to send them back---and I send out replacements, so they can get their speakers swapped with no extra down time due to shipping.

I guess im done--and will get off my soap box now [smiley=laugh.gif] But seriously, if any one is unhappy, or feels our product is not for them, we will offer a full refund including freight charge without delay.

Email me any time!-----------PEZ

I sent this email to pez today and I will post his reply.  Seems like a real stand up guy and they are hard to find.

Hey pez, I have a set that I got a few weeks ago and have not yet put in my 05 SEEG.  I do crank up the music a fair bit and certainly would like to add to your list of failed items.  If you want to exchange them before they have a chance to fail, let me know and we can swap them out before I spend the time putting them in.  Thanks  JP [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif] [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif]

Hey John
Reply I got about 10 minutes after I sent the email.  This guy is great wish he sold more stuff.  JP  [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif]

We have no problem with that...just want to keep you happy if we can.  Hope you appreciate our honesty online.  We are expecting the modified speakers tomorrow as it is not a holiday here in Canada.  I've got a trace on them  now but didn't hear on Friday so we should know for sure tomorrow.  We'll let you know when we expect them and if it's too long for you we will offer you a full refund..whatever makes you happy.  Hope to hear from you soon.

I was one of those that did incur problems with my first set of Hog Tunes however, Pez represented himself and his company by replacing them immediatly.  I play my stereo at about 3/4 volumne all the time and full volumne often, when I'm doing 80 mph.  No problems with the second set.

[bgcolor=Red]I just wish that Harley Davidson stood behind their bikes and their products the same way that Pez stands behind his products![/bgcolor]  There is simply no comparison. [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

I wanted to see what happened with other folks who've had failures before contacting Pez about replacements (and changing my vote on the poll from "no problems" to "problems.")

103;
It sounds like they may have gone....Distortion at low volumes is a sign of a fried voice coil. Try to move the speaker in and out by hand. If there is any resistance or grinding feeling then the coil is done.

I installed a set last night, socks over the running lights pulled out the screws and it took about fifteen minutes, they sound great.
