Thanks a bunch for taking us along Jock.  Again, outstanding job on the photography and the narrative.....I continue to learn from you. :2vrolijk_21:

Dejavue....Terrie and I took a couple of our young grandsons to tour the Hornet a few weeks ago (I forgot my camera) but they would be nearly identical to your photos.  The Hornet, well known for plucking the Apollo out of the ocean after Armstrong walked on the moon....they have his first foot steps outlined on the hanger deck.

For those on the west coast and in particular Nor Cal, the Hornet is open to the public and is located at the old Alameda Naval Air Station in Alameda (Oakland).....   http://www.uss-hornet.org/

Jock, thanks for taking us along on another great pictorial/narrative adventure.  Most enjoyable and should make us all stop and thank those who have given so much so that we can enjoy our freedom each and every day.  ;) spyder

Looks nice Jock.

Did you use your D7000 for these?

Have you tried the built in perspective control or post image software tools?

Actually I sent my Canon compact in for repair and the quote was too much.  After talking to them, Christmas promotion and another discount I got the Canon G12 for a steal.  I really wanted the Nikon but I could not past up the price.  The photographs were taken with the G12 and this is only the second time I have used it.  I really did not even attempt to use their photo editing software yet but I will at some point.  Might try it again at the EasyRiders Show.

Jock,
Thanks for showing/sharing my home area. Pictures # 2 & 3 were taken 2 mile from my house.
Did you enjoy the Medal Of Honor Museum on the Yorktown? That alone is worth the trip.
Hope the next time you head up this way, you give out a shout and at least say hello.
