That is why I replace mine with chrome 12 point bolts. Never rust if you take care of your bike. Easy off and on and look great.

Could never do that here.  Tried too hard to only keep 6 point sockets over the years  [smiley=drink.gif] .

I like the looks of the 12-points too.  Maybe an excuse for a new set of CHROME tools! [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]

I buy all my bolts n' such from Bolt Depot (http://www.boltdepot.com/Chrome-nuts-and-bolts.aspx). Grade 8 polished chrome allen/socket heads with the aforementioned caps to keep the water out (because they will rust inside without the caps). They also sell 18-8 stainless steel, as well as some pretty snazzy chrome bolt covers, either plain or with flames, skull, eagle head or cross.

They sell by the piece or in sets, so you can just buy that one bolt you need or all of them, at a price that is significantly less than MoCo.

Allen Fasteners (www.allensfasteners.com) is another place I shop in the off chance Bolt Depot doesn't have what I need.

...just other options, and options are always good.

I put the ones the MOCO offers on my bike.  Never had one fall off and they look real nice.  Chrome over brass so they wont rust either.

I like Hot Toppers. They're much cheaper than SS or chrome fasteners, they're easy to put on and if I lose some, my dealer replaces them at no cost. I've seen allen chrome bolts rust. Ya have to put a dab of clear nail polish in the bottom. That's too much work for me, I have dozens of them. Hot Toppers is the way to go, IMO. :)
