Hi everyone. What a great forum.
Been searching for my dream bike (my first H-D) since I realized the mistake I made when I stupidly traded her for an Ultra in '03. I've been on this forum as a guest many times during my search. The CVO I'm talking about is the 2001 FXDWG2. I've laid awake at night dreaming about her many times in the last 8 years. I learned a few years ago that my original had been destroyed in a warehouse fire in 2005. I kinda' gave up searching as it's hard to find a decent one. I've been buying some of the "obsolete" parts for her for about a year....but I just found the bike this past February. ...The 1st owner bought her new in October of 2000. She's basically been stored for 12 years with little to no use...VERY LOW MILEAGE and LOOKS LIKE NEW. I just put new tires on her today (Don't trust 12 year old tires, even if they "look" new). I also changed all the fluids as well as rebuilt both calipers and both master cylinders (Brake fluid looked like "Mikes Hard Lemonade") today. Found out the hard way.

She looks and rides like new....I've had the ORIGINAL BROCHURE, The DEALER POSTER (professionally custom framed), The CVO FXDWG2 PARTS CATALOG, The "American Iron" Nov. 2000 magazine issue with the introduction picture of her on the cover, and lots of photos of my original one for a long time....
                         ....NOW I HAVE THE BIKE!                 ...AGAIN!    ...and the "SECOND TIME AROUND" is even better than the FIRST. I appreciate her so much more now.

Can't figure out how to get some of the photos posted...I'll get it though.

Glad to have MY "REPLACEMENT"RED DRAGON back home. At the dealers I've been to, some of the riders don't even know what it is, but most of 'em want one. Those who do know what it is can't believe the "Like NEW" condition.

Hope this works.
This (if it comes out) is a pic of my mancave the day I brought her home. My custom made drums in the backround. My son gave me the drums for Christmas a few years ago. The drum company he endorses (very successful ROCK DRUMMER) had them custom made for his bands North American tour with Australian group "U2" (Vertigo Tour) in 2004. Now I have two of my favorite things side by side. Polish and wax the bike for an hour ....then rock out on the drums for an hour...BIG FUN.

Part of the reason that I've been going crazy over my first H-D for eight years, (since I traded her away in 2003) is that this poster...(the one in the upper left) has been hanging in our home office since my wife had it framed for me (The owner of the H-D dealership gave it to her) two weeks after I bought my very first Harley-Davidson, a WG2. I've had to look at the poster and just daydream. I knew I'd have another one, but she had to be just right...She had to be P E R F E C T! Now everything is right....AGAIN.

Thanks guys. I haven't slept for 3 days. Getting "The Red Dragon" back is one of the coolest things that's ever happened to me. I know I'm 65, but I feel like I'm 16 again, and I just got my driver's license. I'll never ever grow up. My wife just asked me politely, a few minutes ago, to please remove the bike from inside our home. She loves it too, but the whole house is starting to take on the aroma of 96 octane (VP "C-9" Gasoline...NO CORN JUICE FOR ME). It's now back out here in the mancave... I just covered her for the night. The previous owner even gave me the original indoor cover with the RED & GOLD FLAMES LOGO....HE NEVER USED IT. I know that I can't be the only one who gets this excited about a new bike....Please tell me I'm not crazy.

Oh, and here's a better shot of the poster that's been driving me out of my mind....
