Arc Audio Amp + Focal Speakers = SWEET!
« on: June 05, 2013, 06:59:38 PM »

Installed a set of Focal speakers in the fairing and pods last week. Great combo with the Arc Audio 125.4 amp I installed last year. The quality and construction is top notch. Much better than what I had before.......  ;)

Now add some hybrid audio in the bags and you'll be all done. :2vrolijk_21:ne.

I have not heard many positive reviews regarding the speakers in the lids. Most seem disappointed in the lack of volume at highway speeds. Fortunately, I can hear the speakers in my rear pods just fine.  :2vrolijk_21:

I want to do Focals & an Arc amp in my Street Glide, but can't decide if I should sacrifice two dash gauges in order to accommodate separate tweeters. Can't do a tweeter bar, as my Zumo sits there.

Are separate Focal tweeters worth the extra expense and loss of two gauges?

Thanks

I did the tweeters in fairing holes.  I'm sure they add some highs for me.    But if you do just the focal coaxials, I'm sure you'll be fine.  The part #is 165 krc. I have them in both the fairing and the lowers.   They are loud and clear.   I do think the hybrid saddlebag speakers do help as well. I'm very happy with the system.

Ive bee following this thread and also researching stereo options for some time now---------------This thread came along just at the right time as I had about decided on the Arc 125/4 amp , focal 6.5's upper and lower fairings, and maybe some HAT's or Focals in the bags.
Is Soundz Customz the place to purchase. Had a long talk with them the other day and they pretty much sold me on their plug and play setup (2012 SERG)
Anybody got an opinion here????

I have bag speakers in my SESG and like them fine , just not sure I need them in the RG??????

Yes.  His name is Peter Jensen.  Really good guy.  Mention my name.  We had a great time at biketoberfest last year.  He did my bike.  Great stuff.   :2vrolijk_21:

X2 on Peter Jenson. Great customer service from Soundz.

I went with the Focal coaxial speakers in the fairing and rear pods. They sound great and no extra tweeter to mount.

Ok, thats the route Im going-------------just have to decide now how many speakers I want.

Their prices seemed high as opposed to buying it all separately at different places but its worth something to get it all in one box.

Im gonna do the complete fullsac treatment including the andrews 54's and use the 1.75 baffles at Steves recommendation so I shouldnt have any trouble hearing the tunes no matter if I only use 2 or if I use 6 speakers.

Thanks to all for your comments -------------As soon as I started studying about Arc Audio and Customz Soundz I thought this was the way to go. Some things you just know are right!!!!

I'm going to get Focals, but I'm still debating whether to use Coaxials or separate tweeters (and lose 2 gauges).

I think the separate component Focals cost ~$500 more than the standard Coaxials. Is it worth the expense and loss of gauges?

Can anyone offer an opinion?

Thanks

I have a '12 SESG and did not use the separate tweets.  I also did the Focal's thru Pete Jensen. He told me that it is not worth the extra expense.  The highs are not the issue, its the lows.  Therefore and IMHO you do not need the tweets in the separate holes.
