Harley supposedly put millions of miles of testing into the original Twin Cams, and I think we all know how well that worked out.  Let's see, premature cam bearing failures and premature cam chain tensioner failures top the list, but there were many other lesser problems that escaped Harley's testing and engineering analysis as well.  Just because they've been playing with this water cooled head deal for a couple years doesn't mean they really eliminated the bugs.  They have been pretty famous in recent years for taking very mature technology from the auto industry, slapping it on their bikes, and thoroughly screwing it up, so I don't think it's time to start assuming they've suddenly found a new batch of engineers or a management group willing to spend the time, effort, and money to do things right.  I for one will require proof before I offer up any glowing comments.

So I understand the 2014 110's are liquid cooled, ( 1.1 quart )  with rads hidden in some place invisible. Any more info out there? Where are those rads at?

It's my understanding only the CVO Limited (Ultra) is in the Twin Cooled group.  The other 3 CVO's are still air / oil cooled but listed as "new" for some reason.

Merged your thread with one already existing in this board about the new "liquid cooled" motors. You can review the previous posts in this thread for information of them.

From what I have seen at the Mesa test track shop is that there is little difference in the head design.
There should be no problem using current cams that are out there or getting head work done.
A few special KM tools are needed (they say) to work on this new head / cooling system.
Keep in mind that moco has been testing these very heads for over 3 years, so most, if not all, the bugs should be worked out.
Ignorance is bliss until the chit hits the fan - or in this case the radiator fan, lol.

Good info.  Hadn't heard anything about new cams or induction.

The stock EPA 103 HO h20 makes 89/105 and has 96tq at 2k rpm, 10.0:1 CR. The chart did not specify if that is flywheel or wheel power figures

since it's dual cooled would that mean the engine is not fully dependent on the liquid cooling to run without a failure.
after all it is the same engine with just the addition of cooled heads, correct?
i get the impression that the liquid cooling isn't really necessary on cooler riding days so the lowers including the entire liquid cooling system should be removable if so desired.

I have never seen Harley quote anything else but power at the flywheel. Im sure that is it.

I agree.
Advertised crankshaft power numbers, just as the automobile manufacturer's/powersports.

The P&A catalog now has the Harley Davidson Antifreeze for only $29.95!!!!!

What a bargain.

I can see it now, Regular Antifreeze vs Steamin Eagle Antifreeze, whats better?
