Last shot, overhead showing insert and tank graphic match up.

Weather permitting, I'll have a ride report tomorrow on how my backside liked or disliked the new seat.

Cheers,

That looks really nice. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] Your last shot (overhead view) really shows the time they took to match up the graphic lines on the tank w/the ostrich insert. I think that seat looks a lot better on the bike w/the tourpak off. It seems to streamline it a lot better then the big seat from the MoCo. Hope you enjoy it when you get to ride it, and it passes the butt test. ;D

Thanks Gary. I like it, even more so than I thought I would.

I only put 20 miles on the stock seat, so I can't say I have any complaints with it, but knowing how quickly I found out the stock seat on my 99 FLHTC was sub-par, and based on the numerous comments of how quickly the 'finish' on the 07 seats starts wearing off, I decided to try and sell the stock seat as "new" and buy the seat I would eventually wind up getting someday, now, so I bit the bullet and bought the heated Corbin.

I hope my logic plays out in the end because I really like the look of the stock seat, and it has independent switches for front and rear seats, which the Corbin does not have.

Only time will tell.

Cheers,

Chief

I must have a defective seat or too much insulation on my a$$, but even on high, my seat doesn't get uncomfortable.  I don't have any problems with the stock seat, and I'm a big, 6'4", person.  I've spent quite a few 200 mile trips in the saddle of the new Jester and don't have any complaints with the seat at all.  Don't know what all the fuss is about it.[smiley=nixweiss.gif]

Speaking of heating elements.  MY first B/O heated up too hot for my wife (who loves to be 100 degrees to ride)....however my blue jester barely heats up.

I would like to buy a heating element to put on my other seat....

Chief...seat looks good on the Red bike!!  It'll take a couple of thousand miles for the seat to really get broken in, but I'm betting you'll love it.

Red...a lot of people have no problem with the comfort of the stock seat, it's just a matter of how your butt is built, I guess.

The heat on the Corbin, in my opinion, is more even.

Than why the big dollar purchase for the corbin? [smiley=disappointed.gif]
That was kind of my point.  But to each his own...not every seat is right for every backside.  I guess even Corbin's aren't right for everyone.  I like the seat that came with the Jester, it works for me, and bottom line is, that's all that matters.   ;) Now if mama doesn't like it when she starts riding with me again, then we'll have to address that issue then.   :-/

Not knocking the stock seat at all, but here's what happened with me and my stock seat which made me go to the Corbin....When bike was new, and I was doing 100 mile rides, maybe as long as 200 miles, and 3 or 4 hours in the seat, I had no issues with the comfort.  After about 4 or 5K on the bike, and taking a few trips of 300+ miles in a day, the seat seemed to collapse on me after sitting it it for a while, and my tailbone felt like it was resting on the seat pan...the only solution was to stop and get off the bike for 20 or 30 minutes, but within 70 miles it would hurt again.  I think if your typical ride is a couple of hundred miles or so, the seat works...it's those longer days that present the problems...that, and the foam in the seat starts collapsing.  That is certainly not true for everyone, and the passenger portion of the seat has ample padding, so will probably never be a problem.  But reserve judgement on the stock seat until you've got a few miles on the bike and the seat gets broken in, and you've spent some hours in it on longer trips.  If it works for you, you've just saved yourself some money.  It's like a bed...some folks like a softer mattress and others like a firm one.  There's a lot of good seat companies out there besides Corbin, but the Corbin maintains the stock "look" with the Ostrich...some others here have had their stock seat rebuilt by custom makers with great success.

Well I have been reading this thread with great interest as the seat on my 06' CUSE absolutely MURDERS my tailbone.

My decision to go with the Corbin was based on my previous experience with the stock FLH pillow touring seat on my '99 FLHTC, and also the Mustang I replaced it with.

At about 10,000 miles, the stock seat on the '99 was pretty well shot. I felt like I could count the rivets in the pan on the long days. For us, a long day is anything over 500, so after our first trip from Atlanta to Sturgis, the stock seat went into the trash and I put on the Mustang seat that matched the stocker pretty closely.

I rode the '99 for over 40,000 miles with the Mustang, and it too has now gotten to the point that I feel as I am sitting on the seat pan after the first couple hundred miles in a day.

I've just plain worn out the seats. I'm 6'4" and 200 lbs for reference.

When I got the new bike, I was worried about the stock seat holding up for the miles I'll put on the bike, so I decided to take the plunge now while the stock seat, an expensive piece in the P&A catalog, is new and worth something on ebay. I have also read here that some of the stock seat on the 07's were showing signs of wear pretty early.

So far, I am very pleased with the Corbin. No long rides yet, but I'm liking it more and more with each ride. The seat / butt interface is mating up nicely. I don't know what piece adapts, and don't care, as long as the two pieces fit nicely in the end. (No pun intended)

Stock seats are great for the showroom; they look and feel nice to sit on. I personally like the look of the stock seat on the Jester, and wondered if I was doing the right thing by getting rid of it with no miles on it. I hope I made the right choice. Only time will tell, when when Pinkie and I do the "Bentonville Blast" to see her folks. That ride, 750 in a day, is our reference ride. If we can do that one and not feel beat up after it, then we know things are good.

Chief,

When we were going over my Smurf after the crash, I noticed two spots where my wife sits (shes 5' 4" 120 lbs for reference) that the color had already worn off the seat. I pointed this out to the collision guy for warranty and he said he could replace it but it would just do the same thing. So since my heater works good and all else seems fine I left it alone. Only has 1500 miles on it BTW. I will end up replacing it with a Corbin as I have had one B4 and loved it. I dont like the new hole cover ups on them though and do not use a rider backrest so I will get one made without it. First I will put one on the Shark (my spare Road Glide) as that seat is okay but VERY soft. We were in Daytona at the Corbin place last weekend and the seat they had for the Shark was a little too wide and had that rider backrest hole cover I am not fond of so my rep said I could custom order it more tapered and narrow at the thighs and with no hole cover. So I will do that one first. My Smurf will probably be down for another 6-8 weeks anyway.
