On the first ride I decided to take the shortcut across a rather steep hill with very sharp switchbacks. I had forgotten how really tight those turns were. Gee, in my teen years on a Honda 305 they weren't that tight. Regardless, I was heading uphill towards a steep corner that rivaled the slow speed box turns at MSF.
