"Some say you give up some bottom end torque without bumping the comp. Not in my case."

:2vrolijk_21:  The 24D cams I have in my 14' CVO RoadKing are similar to GMR's and I have the Mellows also. Torque similar to my 10.6:1 113".

Call me old school but I laugh when I read about a motorcycle performance shop not returning an email.
I would rather talk with someone in that business on the phone. That determines very quickly whether they can/are, 1) talk the talk, 2) Are a dick, 3) Are truly interested in getting my business. After that I may order from their website. When it's all said and done these guys are suppose to be about making horsepower for Harley motors. I don't judge their horsepower making abilities by the quality of their website.
Just sayin, , , , , ,

I have had a couple of unanswered emails too and went elsewhere for my purchases.
Bit hard to pick up the phone for a chat when you're in a different time zone.
I realise the admin side of a business may become a bit tedious at times,
but why advertise a contact if you cant be bothered to reply?

I guess my point must have been missed.
My original response wasn't taking a side for or against GMR. It was a general statement concerning expectations of a quick or timely email response from a company that's passion is making Harley's go fast. Try this, check out my profile and look at the time I have spent on this site. What that will tell you is that I have spent a lot of time reading post(s) from this site. What that time spent here has taught me is that (among many other things) the vendor "GMR" is a good honest vendor that has a passion for the products they sell. If I had a need I would used them. As I said above, their Harley motor skills/expertise would be what I'd purchase from them, not their internet or email abilities.
I wish you well with your mods.

Thank you 98fxstc!  Us Gen X'ers are often times more comfortable with electronic communication.  With that said, if you're going to setup up a "contact us" form on a website, ANSWER IT.

This reminds me of a previous thread of yours the site owner had to respond to.

you asked and we answered
if you are getting blue in the face, then take a deep breathe and relax.

I have always been told things happen for a reason.
Maybe GMR's non response was smarter than I have given them credit for.
My mistake!

I guess you missed my point.
I have spent a considerable amount of time on this and other HD forums troubleshooting and researching various projects.
(And in some cases able to offer advice)
I agree GMR's knowledge and passion is evident from his posts and from the time he has been posting (previously as HDWrench)
Very fortunate if you can meet him face to face and discuss business with him .
However he trolls for business here and in doing so invites scrutiny from forum members.
Forum members not entitled to post comments about the service provided by a vendor ?
The service was less than stellar on a couple of occasions.
No big deal really but relevant for anyone distant from the business and looking for parts or service over the net.
Just sayin...

Nope, didn't miss your point but since your trolling for relevance let me make a couple more.

I agree GMR's knowledge and passion is evident from his posts and from the time he has been posting (previously as HDWrench)
Very fortunate if you can meet him face to face and discuss business with him .

On one hand you compliment Steve at GMR then you call him a troll.
However he trolls for business here.

I guess you want it both ways?
Again I don't post this to take up for GMR (their quality of products and service speaks for itself) but knowing that they are a good vendor I do want others to know the rest of the story.
A quote from you,
I had a problem with a S&S pushrod
When they realised I was in Australia ,didn't hear anymore .  :nixweiss:

So you live in Australia, and S&S like GMR didn't make you happy.
I guess there are some that will never be happy with anything. (even dealing with good vendors like GMR or S&S)
Maybe those are the real trolls.

This post is to SBB, and is NOT a comment on any vendor.

SBB: There you go again--commenting on things you know nothing about and showing your ignorance.

98 fxstc actually said "(GMR) trolls (as in looks for business) here (on the site)."  SBB, this is not the same as calling him a pot-stirrer (the type of troll you are referring to).

The OP is a site member commenting about his experience with a vendor--something any intelligent person on this site is interested in hearing.  Only a troll sees that as an opportunity to be a jackXXX to the OP.  Once again you have shown your true color...often known as "diaper-load green."

SBB

Here's a look into the future, SBB.  Hope you enjoy it.

Several years from now, after SBB and his minions have dumped on every site member who reports an unsatisfactory experience with a vendor or dealer, all site members stop reporting problems.

Soon, SBB has a problem with a vendor and posts about it.  Every site member that SBB dumped on, knowing payback is a witch, laughs their azz off and replies to SBB.  Just like SBB did to them, they tell him it must be his fault, and they do it with maximum snark.  SBB becomes the site's whipping boy.  He loved to dish it out, but he couldn't take it.

SBB feels like a fool, and posts that none of them were involved in his transaction (which is true, of course, but that never stopped him!).  Everybody laughs hysterically at his keen grasp of the obvious (but only when it happens to him), and the forum crashes twice a day for the next week from members rushing to give him some of his own medicine.  SBB eventually realizes he is reaping what he has sown.

At this point, the Ghost Of Forum Future asks SBB if he is going to change his ways, or is he going to keep digging?  Only SBB can answer.

I do not have any problem with any vendors on this site.  What I do have a problem with is CVOHarley.com members that highjack other users’ posts (that contain honest opinions and experiences for the good of others) to bully and goad other members into a public firefight.  Members like SBB that repeatedly dredge up other peoples’ old posts in attempt to make them look bad.  All this kind of behavior serves to do is ruin the thread for people seeking useful information and drive people underground to private messages to see the final outcome of bike mods.  Please private message me or email me, if you are interested in how my build went today (01/02/15), as SBB has spoiled this thread on CAMSHAFTS.  Admin, please seal this thread!
