No worries on the minor threat jack we're good. Just as good a place to put the pics of that bike. I hope to get down today after work(4:00pm) and pick it up a little after five but i am worried about the chances of rain. Will not have time to socialize most likely and hate to cut our first face to face short. We did want to stop but the HD store and see that color in person but I have zero interest/money. :D

50% chance of the wet stuff today.  If you were shooting for the best day, tomorrow looks like 20% and the best day as the chances of rain go up into the weekend.  Of course Thursday may not work for ya... :nixweiss:

 :nixweiss:
I had a test ride on the new Indian, great engine and performance.
but, suffered with wind coming through the gap between screen and head lamp. So strong that it buffered my helmet and forced my visor up.
Did not have toe / heel gear change. (although available as an EXTRA)!
There were other minor issues, but each one was going to cost! to put right.
Then there is the issue of distance to dealers, even in England I sit between two dealers 60 & 120 miles apart. too far for service and repair.

:2vrolijk_21: So replaced my trusty 2011 Roadglide CVO Ultra for the 2015 version.
what a lovely bike to ride, no issues with wind, etc. Just a crap radio.

Thanks for the Congrats gentlemen and yes time always tells if a choice was wise or not. I thin k they have come to play and they are not messing around. The adjustable windshield on the fairing bikes is neat and keeps you from buying several and then only using one.

Puma I have heard stories about soft paint and easy swirls but this one of mine is a one of one paint done in Knoxville. I expect it to be better than the factory paint.

SBB they feel fairly light and without having the primary sticking out and the center of gravity low they come up of the side stand very easily.

Ron I will let you know when Iu drive the thing your way and certainly would let you try it out. You may not want to however. ;)

I did mention to the sales manager that the dealer network is to small for some to be comfortable to buy and go out touring. He said they were growing rapidly. Time will tell again.
I didn't notice swirls. Just a dull look to the paint. Reminded me of a powder coated bicycle I had when I used to race. Not matte, but like there was no clear coat. I little shine, but no reflection. I read somewhere that Polaris was giving them that look intentionally, for an antique appearance. But like I said, the two-tones appear to be much nicer.

At the end of the day, isn't it really about looks ? Isn't that what grabs you when you see a new product of any type ? A car, a truck, a boat, a motorcycle, an RV and so on. Victory had a hard row to hoe when they built their first Intergalatic Battle Star of a long mile touring bike but it's catching on. Sometimes being very different is an attraction to people. Indian on the other hand is trying to go for the look that we've all associated with their product (irregardless of who "THEY" is) and also upgrade and modernize to insure better realiability which also means for them fewer warranty claims. I love my Harleys. I've loved everyone one of them with the exception maybe of a chopped SuperGlide I took in trade on a boat that was a death trap. And as much as I applaud H-D Inc on their efforts to improve the product and still hold onto the classic Harley look, to me they lost it a few years back. The tanks look puffy, the hole in the fairings while functional is FUGLY and a long list of other things I do not care for visually. But the thing is this. My problem with the new Indian my friend bought that I posted a picture of is that it is freakin huge. Visually it's the Titanic. When I look at indivdual pieces of it and sections, I like the design and  flow of the bike but overall it's just too damn big looks wise. But for those that don't feel that way. Those that look at it and see what their heart of hearts lusts for then buy it. But what you want and the hell with what any of the rest of us think or say. Because this isn't a necessity. It isn't something you HAVE to have to survive and make your way throuh life. It's a toy -  albeit a uselful one but still a toy and even though we're all grouwnups we still should listen to our hearts and buy toys we like.

For me its features.  I won't buy something I think is fugly, like the Vision, but I won't buy a car or bike on color or appearance as a deciding factor.  That's why I ride an Ultra.  I wanted those long haul comfort features.  I decided to update from my 99 when I bought this one because I wanted the added feature of ABS.  The wife actually talked me into the Screaming Eagle.  Otherwise I'd have bought a plane black one.

Then I'd spend $10k adding stuff because I love to tinker.  :D

While I don't agree that new Harleys are ugly, or that the Indians are too big (close maybe), the rest of this is good advice. These bikes are for yourself, and maybe the OL, none of the rest of us.

I used feel the same way about Victory's looks. Just too out there for my taste. But then I saw a lot of them at Myrtle Beach a couple of weeks ago and they actually look real good IMO. Here's a photo of one:

It's great to have options I guess. Classic Harley's, more modern looking Victory's, and retro Indians.

I have gone to Bike Week at Myrtle Beach for 30 years and this year was different.
It has always been about Harley's. A guess on my part of percentages in the past would be 90% Harley's and 10% everything else.
This year my guess would be 75% Harley's, 15% Victories and 10% everything else. That may not sound like much but there were Victories everywhere. I'm not a Victory guy but there are producing some good looking machines. The picture you show looks great.

I did not know you were there Chip! Would have been great to finally meet you in person and have a couple of beers at least. I was there with John (jpb). Maybe next year!

We went down Thursday morning on the 11.5 SEUC w/Bushtec. I have a place on the beach in Surfside and watched the crazies. It was very crowded but I guess I'm just getting old. Broken Spoke, SBB, the Harley shops, Broadway on the Beach and downtown were hopping.
It was almost as crowded as Bike Week of years past.
Next time my friend. And we will get Jimmy to come also!

Tried last year and it didn't work out. Trying again this year, with my already purchased MGV GTG long sleeve T on, of course! :D

Excellent!! Hope to see you there.

I am not terribly sensitive to thread drift no worries, it's all about the whole biking experience.

I agree with Spiderman that it is more about looks than anything else with the possible exception of name brand. I know a few guys that will not part with HD for any reason. One of my biddies is in to deep. Hie whole house is decorated with Harley stuff even down to the Christmas ornaments. It might be easier to convert to Islam than divorce Harley. :D I am glad i do not have to give up my three Harleys but it is nice to add this one bike. The stable if FULL! I don't think I could get much more in there.

Yes hayed this has become a large thread especially with all the jerks jacking it. :D Lova ya!

I brought it home last night and had all kinds if pent up road rage with all the slow traffic. By slow traffic I mean all the "A" holes that were driving under 85mph. No rain and all good. I have not taken any new pics yetg and have a three day tour coming up so will post when i get back. The wife will most likely be riding it since I have to take the Limited for cargo carrying. :(
