Twolanerider,
The reason I mentioned bleeding the clutch was that it engaged right at the grip when I picked it up, and the 2-3 upshift was almost impossible to make.  After bleeding the clutch 3 times, I finally got the engagement point about 1/2 to 3/4 inch from the grip, which helped.  The problem is, even with real gear oil (Redline, also used in last bike), when the clutch starts to get hot the shifts become harder and noisier.  I don't believe the clutch is releasing completely.
Also, this is my first FI bike.  I noticed on my friends FI bikes in the past that they started and idled at a fast idle when cold, maybe 1200-1500 rpm.  This bike idles at about 900 rpm cold, with occasional hiccups and stalls.  This can't be right, but the dealer claims h-d eliminated the fast idle on purpose.  What is your experience with this?

long time reader, but first time for reply.  i got my new yellow seeg.  been riding a fatboy for years. first time for a bagger.  i love the bike but some of the quality harley has is not very good.  filler strip on left side rubbing against saddle bag bracket,  tail pipes not even, right bag all messed up, and what is up with all those hose clamps sticking out the bottom of the pipes so you can see them.  the radio is very cool and shocks are not that bad.  where is all the bottom end to the motor. its has lots of top end.

Hey Todd

Welcome to the site!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now for the issues

Is your dealer a good one?
If yes, then that will take care of some of the issues.
What's your definition of right bag all messed up?
The hose clamps can be rotated.
How many miles on the motor?

Again welcome to this great site!

I've had mine for 8 weeks now and I am very satisfied overall. This is the 7th Harley in the last 9 years for me and the wife: 97 fat Boy, 98 road king, 99 dyna wide glide, 01 ultra classic, 02 xl1200 custom, 03 fat boy, 05 SEEG2. And none of them compare to the SEEG2, paint, chrome, power it has it all........ [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

One issue that makes me crazy on the SEEG2 is the welds on the gas tank are terrible. Anyone who looks closely at the bike will notice multiple blemishes along almost every weld. I would have thought that the MOCO would have paid better attention to the details on a $30k bike........ [smiley=confused5.gif] But they just paint right over the welds without ever smoothing them or trying to blend them in. [smiley=thumbsdown.gif]

I looked at 10-12 other SEEG's over the past few weeks check specifically for the condition of the tank welds. And some look good and some are a lot worse then mine. So HD has some quality control issue's it appears. My dealer offered to swap out the tank for me but the replacement was as bad as my original tank so I said skip it. The moco area rep took a look and said there was nothing she could do unless there was a structural or functional defect.  [smiley=shocked2.gif]

I think I'll buy a Corbin seat to see if it will hide the most visable blems near the front nose on the stock seat.

Anyone else notice this problem.....seems to be more noticeable on the Yellow bikes....

Meaning, on a banana

everything shows up more than a reg SEEG! [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

Now just don't ask what the definition of a "reg SEEG" is! [smiley=laugh.gif]

Its a Motor Company quality issue and a dealer support thing with me. I mean come on.
A $30,000. motorcycle that seems to have thinner paint and poorer quality chrome than any other Harley Ive had. Not to mention my horn dosnt work, my maxi fuse fell off and was stuck between the frame and belt. It needs its performance enhanced, its suspension redone and a new seat just to make it comfortable. And this is the Companies finest product ?? Not to mention all the other problems we have all read on this site that we have not yet had the pleasure of experiencing.

Harley needs to wake up and make these bikes right. Maybe we should all sign one big bitch letter to get there attention as its to easy for them to screw with us one on one.

Let me know where to sign    [smiley=beerchug.gif]

You mean your horn doesn't work?  Does anyone have one that DOES work????  I mean consistantly..........and I don't think that the CVO's have any worse/or better chrome and paint than any other recent HD models.  But, they're so great in so many other ways!  Har!   [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif] spyder
