I first read about the 2004 SEEGs in the Enthusiast magazine that came out in the fall of '03. 2 years prior, I had just purchased my first Harley, a 2002 Electra Glide Classic in luxury blue, after 15 or so years of riding rice. I loved that bike, but I could not get my mind off of the 103" motor, all the chrome, the silver engine, the spun aluminum gauges, and all the other stuff that makes a CVO a CVO.
At the time, a close friend of mine had just returned from a motorcycle trip to the Smokies. He had a Dyna Wide Glide, also his first Harley, but on the way back we had switched bikes for a hundred miles or so, so he could get a feel for my big "bagger." So, after telling him how I was lusting after the SEEG, he innocently asked me what I'd want for the '02 Classic. I said, "Hey, let me see if I have to get my name on a list at the dealer for the SEEG, or what, and we'll go from there."
The dealer here said I was the first to ask about the then new model, "So, whichever color you want, we'll put your name on for ya, no money down required," the sales manager said. I said, "Damn, I'm really having a helluva time deciding about the color."

Then he said, "They're doing the black and blue ones first, and we have one coming in in about two weeks." I said, "Great! Let me know when you get it and I'll be right down. If I like it, I'll buy it!" "Cool!" said the sales manager.
Well, after several sleepless nights and drooling over that article in the Enthusiast magazine every chance I got, the call came one Thursday afternoon, about two weeks later, just like he said. He goes, "It's here!" I said, "I'll be RIGHT down!" Well, one look at this bike sitting there in the bright fall sunshine and I said, "I'll take it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I rode it home the following night and then took it back the next day for the fall Open House they were hosting. I'd never been the first kid on the block with anything, so it was really fun to watch all the people's faces as they tried to take in all the details on the bike. I was one proud papa!!!

The following weekend, I sold the '02 to my buddy who, as luck would have it, had unloaded his Wide Glide through an eBay auction during that week. That was 3 1/2 years ago now, and we're both still as in love with each of our respective bikes today as the day we got them! It was just one of those things that was meant to be.

Here's the first peek I had of the bike on that day that it was delivered to the dealer (I know, I know. DAMN, that's a good lookin' bike!!!!
