The bags look great.  Your painter could make himself some serious money if he was interested.  AWESOME!  Otter

But wasn't that the idea of the 07 SERK? To make it less of a bagger and more of a hotrod. That was my thinking when I first saw it.

Honest to goodness, probably so.  And there's no doubt some guys that just love the look.

I remember my first and immediate reaction to seeing those bags in the pictures though.  Especially against the red and blue bikes.  Just hated them.  They didn't flow with the look of the bike at all.  And they are tiny inside.

I'm glad that some of the guys really like them.  I personally absolutely love the rest of the SERK treatment too.  In fact my favorite CVO bike since the SEEG.  But I personally would be one of the minority considering saddle bag options.

Who the hell designs a Touring Bike as a Barhopper anyway! Those bags look cool, but they're only oversized glove compartments! And it's a damn fine hot rod, but it's my Touring Bike and needs just the fulll size saddlebags to be perfect. (And my Rambler Roof Rack, of course!) And who said you can't have a Touring Hot Rod anyway! A 4-speed! Now that's a barhopper! ;) Hoist! 8)

I have one touring bike which by my definition means a motorcycle I will ride it from Ocean to Ocean in damn near any weather, park outside a hotel in a strange town and not worry about it.  I have one bar hopper which by my definition is a fairly fast, good handling bike which is flashy and gathers a lot of attention and which I don't leave out of my sight because it equal in value to some people's homes.

Man what a typical New Yorker you are - - anyone who doesn't see the world as you do is wrong.  :smilie_daumenneg:

I have always liked leather bags on a Harley :-)

98, 02, and 07 attached. Same seat and seat rail and pipes, almost.  Old habits are hard to change.

Yes, for touring, hard bags, fairing and trunk are better, no questions asked
