I wish we were all already at MV and youse guys (ya'll) were argueing like this. I'd watch for maybe 10-15 mintues and walk off and drink a beer or 4 with a happier person. But I read on it all day at work and then check in at night for the evening edition. I must be bored.

And compared to me, all youse guys (ya'll) are U (Urban). there's no=one more country than me on this site except Lenny. Lenny, I consider & meant that as a compliment!

Let's get this thing cooking again. On topic!

Today's Update:

I'm waiting to hear from Alex and the SM. But the ass't. there told me they got the bike started a few minutes ago! :2vrolijk_21:

He's new, and not a Harley guy, or even a bike guy. But he said, and these are his words, "what the hell did you do to that thing? I never heard anything like that in my life!" Not knowing he didn't know much about bikes, I said, "what do you mean, is that good or bad?" He said " no, it's good! That thing sounds mean. It shook the whole shop!" I just laughed at that point and told him that's what it was built for! ::)

I'm expecting a call from them in about 20 minutes to go over everything. It appears that we were able to run the motor with the ACR wires simply disconnected, as was suggested by folks here. Thank you for that! I hope to know more about the bike later. When I do, I'll let ya'll know then. Right now, I've breathed my first sigh of relief! Hopefully all they need to do is to heat cycle it a few more times. Then he can finish putting everything back on the bike. Then get it cleaned up. It should, without any further complications, be ready for pickup tomorrow afternoon! ;)

So what you're saying is that poor Binx has even louder exhaust to "enjoy?"

Good to see that it's running.  That is great news.  Dare we guess what you'll be doing tomorrow evening?  :huepfenlol2:

If it's louder than the VH's your ears will be ringing by the time you ride 750 miles in one day. I just got back from Houston, 750 miles one way, and I still am hearing the birds sing in my ears.

The allowable difference is something a builder should know.
At least someone got a scale and checked.
That was better than not checking.
Which would have been the path had not such a concern been raised.

RUB's where on this site did you find some of them?
A guy at the Harley shop told me a rub was anyone with more than one bike.
His point was you can't ride but one at a time.
I guess there are a few of those people on this site.
Don't you have two?

I thought a RUB was a person who spent tons customizing a bike, At A SHOP, has it for a few years or more, but it has less than 2,000 miles on it! Takes it out once or twice a summer and rides around town, in all his leathers and brand new HD shirts, and shiny boots. :P

A friend of mine use to work for Thunder Mountain, he delivered bikes all over the mid west. He would bring a $35,000-$55,000 bike to someones house, unload it and ask the new owner if they would like to ride it around the block before he left. Many would say, "no, just put it in the garage, I don't have a licence yet"! He said this happened a lot! Thats a real RUB!!!!!

Ain't that what bobblehead called some of youz guys, chrome obessed upwardly mobile outdoers of the next guy.  You know them; faster bike, bigger house, smarter dog, and all that crud that don't matter anyway.  Some thicker skin certainly wouldn't hurt.

On another note:

My good friend lost his wife of 17 years Monday.  She was only 46 years old.  That is what matters right now. I'll be back in few days.  Peace to all.

Last RUB I saw drove in to an Abate weekend campout in a Hummer pulling a large trailer with side windows open so you could see the two custom bikes with fancy paint jobs including yellow with checkered flags painted in. Then the couple both jumped out in full leathers, both with fringes and pushed both bikes to the bike show and spent the weekend giving rides around the campsite in the hummer.  :huepfenjump3: Oh yeah, congrats on getting her to run again Howie, hope you can ride her now and just rack up the smile miles.

Don't miss me so fast!

Today's Update:

I just got home with the bike. 25 miles on the new top end. I'm letting it cool down now. Be heading back out soon.

Bike feels great. It runs even better with these unbalanced pistons too! ::)

It seems like it did before the ACR failure. There was no problem whatsoever with disconnecting the ACR wires. ACRs are removed and the wiring is simply disconnected. Throws no codes. I'm loving the Manual CRs. More of a Hot Rod feel to starting the bike now. The Axtell barrels are unreal. Puts the stock HD crap to shame. They make the heads look cheesy! :D

Bike seems to run the same as before. Running cool oil temp and never exceeded 200 deg yet. Hard to tell anything after only 25 miles and not exceeding 3000 RPM for now. I'll try to put a few hundred on tonight and get the rings seated OK. I'll be able to put more miles on tomorrow, while I'm waiting for Binx to get home from work. We'll be heading to the Q's around 7 and staying overnight. We'll ride up to Neal's with the Q's on Sat morning, to meet the group. By the time we get to MA for the ride, it should be pretty well broken in. I'll know more then. There's no vibration or any discernable effects from the rebuild. It appears to be running fine. One can only hope the chopper gods will be happy now! ;)
