I think you guys with the 05's will not see the "oil on the right bag problem".  My 04 would blow oil every time I ran it hard through the gears (5000 plus).  Dropped it off while I was out of town last week for that reason.  I returned to find it back in my shop and a note that the breather mount and return tubes had been replaced with an 05 setup.  Had a chance to ride last evening and found no evidence of oil blow back, or for that matter, no oily film inside the air cleaner cover.  I gave it a good chance to blow oil as I ran it to the rev limiter (6200) several times.  I'll find out more about the differences in the two setups (04 vs 05) and post when I speak with service.

BLM, When you are riding to the rev limiter (6200) do you feel a loss in power or anything else feel different when you are there? Or is it just like a bull pushing a house and that is as far as it will go, but still feeling strong?

The torque curve breaks at about 5300 and is downhill from there.  Will be addressing that issue with heads, cam, high comp pistons and throttle body after the trip to the Valley.  Really don't want to be in the break-in mode in the mountains.

I just had my motor done with geared cams and 103+ pistons.  When the builder took the cam plate out, it was scarred and the oil pump was trashed.  8600 miles on the meter.  I was living on borrowed time and didn't know it.  Cam tensioners were good though.  Wasn't expecting to buy those parts.  Just got it back last week.  10.8:1, TW400g cams, S&S roller rockers, Underground head work.  After 800 miles of break in, he will dyno it out.  Has only checked it on the dyno to make sure it was safe to ride for the break in.  The thing about pulls my arms out of their sockets.  Has put a power commander over my existing tuner map and it built a map.  No guessing.  The thing wasn't this smooth when stock from the factory.

The TW400G is a Bob Wood cam.

Note Well
the damage in the above pics is not liquid on those parts there is metal missing from the cams and the rollers have flat spots and uneven wear.

I cant see that the shoe materal caused all that damage. Something else like a lifter roller bearing was chipping apart putting metal in the cam chest causing all that piting. The shoe material is soft and wont hurt the rollers. Was one of the chains grinding into a metal portion of the tensioner ?

the tensioner is wrecked by the abrasive chain

Thanks,
I knew there had to be metal coming from somewhere. And I think Harley tells there techs that its all contained in the cam chest when they should be replacing motors when one is that bad.
