If you have something designated in "Genre" section of the properties for the file then it will sort by that if you want to play by specific "Genre". If you are just playing all the files stored on that card then it really doesn't matter.

OK, I'm a dummy.  I just copied songs from my computer to the SD card in the ZUMO and let it handle organizing them.  Works fine, but then, my library is quite small.

The reason it's an issue for me is because I've got my standard riding tunes and then a bunch I have for the breast cancer walks. The ones for the walks are real upbeat and lots of disco and other cheesy stuff. When I'm riding, I like to bypass those, which I can do by differentiating it with playlists.

Yeah........and "artist" and "album" and maybe some other categories as well.  I just load up what I want for a day and go.........and most of the time I switch between the ZUMO and the HK.  It's all good, but honestly, there's too much tech involved in something that is supposed to be fun........but it is pretty cool stuff tho'.  Nonetheless, for me, I try to keep it simple and leave the complex stuff for work.   :2vrolijk_21:

Ordered the Zumo 550 just now. It has a MP3 player with it? Ordered a techmount. Ordered the thumbscew, or I'm trying to. what a weird way to order. I've got to wait for an order#? Hope this doesn't put me over the total $750 I was allowed to spend on this SEUC, since it supposedly came with EVERYTHING I'd ever need on it.

Yes it does come w/MP3 player. You will need to get a SD Flash cards to store your music on. Also will need to get the stereo patch cord to run audio from your Zumo to radio.

They are media storage cards (like digital camera's use) where you can store your music files. The Zumo itself has limited storage capacity and only hold a limited amount of music files. Look here to see an example of SD cards.

Ken,

The cards are also useful for storing things like Points of Interest such as all the H-D Dealerships, etc.

Ahhhh..So we can spend even MORE money? You guys have cost me thousands of dollars ya know. Where does it end? I've now got $100,000 in this bike. If the dealer would allow me that in trade in, I'd buy an 08. I could take the difference he'd pay me and retire.
