Not that I want to throw fuel on the flames but this e-mail was sent to me and seeing that it seems to be on topic. I'd like to see the feed back on the following info. I'll go on record as saying that I don't completely believe all of the "Global warming warnings" but I do believe conservation and alternative fuels are the only way we're going to keep the planet clean enough to live on in the future. We, IMHO, are way too wasteful and although we've made strides to get things cleaner, cars, trucks, packaging and such. There is a long way to go. The opinions given below are not mine but I can pass on the authors e-mail address if you like to comment directly to him. This will be posted in three parts as it exceeds the 6K limit.

"Global warming is a hoax. In fact it may well be the GREATEST HOAX of all time. By "global warming" I mean the claims of impending drastic climate change leading to floods, droughts, violent weather and all manner of man made calamities requiring "action" (we need to do something before it's too late to act) now. The science does not support the message of calamity from the fear mongers.
In one e-mail I don't hope to change anyone's mind... just maybe plant a seed.
Most people I talk to about global warming are unsure of their position on the issue. "It's a complicated topic." "I'm not sure, what if it is happening?" "Even if we're not sure we should try to do something before it's too late to act." Valid positions based on the onslaught of doom and gloom from Hollywood and the mainstream media. If you read something in this e-mail that gets your attention but want more evidence/science/proof/links, etc. please contact me. I have tons of references to send you. Much more than can be provided in one obscenely long e-mail.
I've been studying the global warming issue for about eleven years. In 1995 or 1996 I heard Dr. Richard Lindzen (Alfred P. Sloan Meteorologist from MIT) debunk global warming at Worcester State College. He specifically criticized the second report from the IPCC (the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change). I've now become strongly convinced of the bad science behind the warming movement to the point where I take this public position (this e-mail is being sent to lots of poeple).
It is a very complicated subject. There are many scientific studies and papers to wade through. It's taken me years. I can offer you 2 shortcuts to explore if you are interested. Easiest and most fun - read Michael Crighton's STATE OF FEAR. It's a fast paced thriller by a well respected author who took years to research the subject. It is abundantly foot noted. His Author's Message at the end of the book details practical ways to clean up the scientific process that has been so politicized. Don't hold your breath for implementation of these ideas - the pols would rather have the issue to drive tax revenue than any semblance of scientific sanity on the issue.
Second shortcut, less fun, but well researched in a single volume, read THE POLITICALLY INCORRECT GUIDE TO GLOBAL WARMING by Christopher Horner. Excellent resource book. There are bunches more resources out there, both books, scientific studies and Internet sites. Happy to point you to these if interested.
Want to wade through the scientific studies? Visit
http://icecap/us/ . There are dozens of other sites I can direct you to if interested. This stuff is not hard to find. Is the planet warming? Yes. About 1/2 degree in the past century. Actually, a little global warming may be a good thing. No kidding. Look at this point of view in the scientific literature. Google "global warming good". Here's a link

Most of you with marginal interest in the global warming issue can zone out now. What follows is a short compilation of reasons and evidence (and 2 predictions) why I and many meteorologists believe the global warming hysteria is a big time hoax. By the way, if you're a global warming proponent and have scientific studies or other stuff backing your position I'd love to see it. Now that's hard stuff to find! Most studies supporting the global warming crisis have been proven by peer reviews to have lots of mistakes or be just bad science.
