I've not spoken to one dealer that hasn't gotten at least one back. That's about 8 or 9 dealers. And they ask what I know about them when they hear about the site. They know we find chit out faster than they do. And they know about the 110's. ;)

We should be proud that we can network this information when it's difficult for most folks to get answers. Nobody joins because of the social aspect. We come looking for one answer or another. The social aspect comes later. And that's even more special. :2vrolijk_21:

You do need thick skin to put up with you guys. You must all be a buncha assholes!!! :P ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Now there is a perfect poll.....

how many found the site after 110 problems?

I found the site through Hdforum and I certainly have had no problems,  but some of you are making me feel guilty that

I have not!

sounds like support group.......Yes I own a 110  for 120 days and I have had no problems, but there is still hope!

Not at all man, not at all.  I can remember many times when someone who hasn't suffered the difficulties that others have has been congratulated and envied.  I've done so with those that were fortunate enough not to have issues with Zippers that I and many others have.  And I can remember the same coming up on bad paint and 110 problems also.

No one wants to see someone else have a problem.  Or if they do they're assholes.  And the problems are NOT what makes this a special and unique group of friends.  That we actually hang out together is what makes that the case.  But that we actually know each other, and therefore have some real trust in what the others say, and some real interest and affection for one another both individually and collectively makes it all the more troublesome for someone that really does come off as a company shill who is saying things that just don't ring true.

I just ready to welcome the guy when i noticed he nuked himself. Not sure why other than he got himself into a hole and instead of eating a little crow and climbing out he ran away. Too bad thought, He may have had some good insight.

As far as the 110 problems go I have an HD Master Certified tech that works at my shop part time. At the dealer he works at they have not seen but one 110 head gasket failure. I feel that the people that are here are riding their bikes and putting the miles on them. The problem for the most part does not appear until 5-8K. I am also fairly sure that there are bikes out there that are leaking that have not been yet noticed. I have had two at my shop that i pointed the leak out to the owners. There are probably still a few thousand 110's that have not seen that many miles.

I really do not know where the truth really lies,
and I am new to the site and most do not know who I am and likewise I do not know who most of you are,
(as far as I am concerned we both love to ride,so we have something in common)
but can the lynchings come after a little greater transgression than not acknowledging an issue that they may or may not be aware of?

I am a small business owner that is similar to a HD dealership, but has nothing to do with motorcycles and I have particpated in industry forums that I have given an honest opinion or a result of experience only to be slammed as a company plant or a liar. I do not participate in them anymore because my only motive was to try help and educate people in how things work in my particular industry.
I wanted to help also those in how to navigate problems  if seemed warranted.
This turned to be futile and I genuinely wanted to help.
I have over 35 years as a Dealer and I have a completely different perspective than most customers (remember do not flame me because I have nothing to do with Motorcycles)

Just for the fun of it, I've been thinking about making a new member and call myself HDServiceRep.

My first post would go something like this:

I'm new to this site. I've heard of CVOHarley.com and I just joined to see what this is all about. I've been a service rep for 15 years. If there's anything I can do to you, just let me know. I'd like to go to one of your gatherings and answer any questions you may have in a family friendly environment. PM me your address and shirt size and I'll send you a free T-Shirt.

Is it true that if I change to HD Michelin tires, that I will have to buy French air to inflate them properly.  Why do French tires reject American air?  Is there an air adapter I can use?  Thank you for your response & my t shirt size is kinda big but not too big.  Just leave it on a nearby fencepost - before long I'll ride by & find it.

Iski,

To run HD Michelin tires you'll need to purchase your air from an authorized HD dealer. The part# is 03-16789B. It sells for $45.89 per 12 ounce can. If you don't use Genuine HD air, your warranty could be void. We've actually had some cases where unauthorized air has caused cylinder liners to shift & move. If you could be more specific about the fence post, I'd know where to stick it.

There are probably still a few thousand 110's that have not seen that many miles.

Kind of reminds me of the peeling chrome issues on the 04 and 05 SEEGs.  While some had experienced it multiple times, many of us had not.  I stayed out of those threads for the longest because I didn't have the experience.  Two years and 20,000k miles into it, I finally did experience it.  The dealership didn't know there was an "issue" with peeling chrome.

I was skeptical of that after reading as much as I'd read here, so I started asking every SEEG owner I'd run into (there are a lot of them here in Nor Cal).  I can tell you that the percentages were low, but you'd not have thought that by all the posts on this board at the time.  Those of you that have been here for awhile will remember it and the amount of related posts in relation to the size of the membership.
