We talked and he wanted more for the bike than his statement on the phone, he started to write it up and I said wait here's a check for 33K thats what I will give OTD.
So he took it over to the head geek with his write up, couple minutes later he returns with a bottom line of 36.5 k, they would not move, I said SEE YA.

36.5, that's utterly ridiculous!  My bike was 28,600, I was out the door at 29,234.  I traded my 03 Fatboy in. Freight and setup should be 500, plus your tax and that's it. Anything more is a crock of ****!  [smiley=beadyeyes.gif]

Goose,

Freight should be $270 per the MOCO and notice how they don't mention a set up fee in any of their literature.............that's because the dealer is paid directly by the MOCO to perform that task. Yet some cads like to double dip and charge the public a fee for this so called service.

Msrp or less for a SEEG is a very good deal. Anything besides sales tax, doc fee and freight is just piling it on............

Jimp the good thing about a yellow SEEG is that they are just being released. I don't know how much longer production will go on but I'll bet it will sometime in June. You may have to travel but there will be some out there that are not spoken for. Have someone do a vehicle locate for you. Stay safe.

Jimp,
Here's a 2004, best color, low miles, extras, and get this....no reserve.  Might want to keep an eye on it.  With no reserve, could end up a bargain.

Do you guys feel you need to negotiate to purchase a SEEG, because I don't feel that way. To me its simple you take a cashier check for 33K and say here I will pay this much, end of story.

JIMP I think the dealers are going to find out in the next year or so. The ones that treat thier customers like that won't have any to treat like that again.

They have a limited production bike that they want to put a premimum on. They have gotten away with this BS for about 10 years now. It is going to end. Hell up here in western maryland you can buy some bikes under MSRP. That started last year. A lot of people around here know who these dealers are and thats why they have very little in stock. The ones that sell for MSRP and higher have over 150 bikes in stock.

A friend of mine called me last night at work and told me he was ready to buy a Harley. He said he wasn't sure what model he wanted and asked my opinion. I told him go down and try every model out. They have them all in stock except for the SEEG. It is a shame it took 10 years for this to start going back to the way it was. Stay safe.
