#1148 and other than Kuryakyn Blue Dot Brake with panacea front and rear LED turn indicators, Kuryakyn zombie windshield trim, zombie shift linkage and linkage cover(cool), hd headlight and passinglamp visors,XM radio, I am waiting for 1000 mile to add slip-on, high flow AC,SERTand Dyno. Wallet should be close to empty by then. It's funny, I can't find any of my catalogs-not where I left them. HHMMMM.....

That's probably because your other half threw them out because you gave her the same justification for getting a CVO that the rest of us did.  "If I get the CVO honey, it comes loaded, I won't need to add hardly anything to it."  ;) So she took you at your word and figured you didn't need the accessory catalogs anymore.   Been there, done that....I know from whence I speak.   ::) :P

Dyno measurements at delivery with performance options: 115.51 ft-lbs torque, 94.85 HP (both rising thru 5000 rpm and then flattening) and 13:1 air/fuel ratio.

Thru 1,000 miles I'm getting 36 mpg (if I'm getting on it) up to 50mpg (when I'm not getting on it).  It's awful hard not to "get on it"!  This ultra makes my old 04 RKC seem ancient and slow.

OK,  my bike seems similarly set up to yours (SERT, roll your own air filter, SE Performance Touring slip on mufflers) and I only get 102.26 ft-lbs torque and 89.25 HP. Torque is rock stable until 4,500 rpm and HP raising until about 5,250 rpm.  Air fuel ratio 12.5:1 - 13:1 range.

Is it that you have different mufflers than I have, or something else?  Any clues from looking at my dyno tune sheet? [http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=6375.165]

I am also envious of your numbers.....(even though they are only numbers) after spending 2K on SERT, true duals and Rush mufflers and a Stage 1 a/c,

My numbers ended in    87.5 HP
and                          105.5 ft lbs torque

now I must admit it is feeling pretty good especially above 3000 rpm (but who doesn't)....low end 2000 is better
and sound is just where I want it....... but to tell the truth I was looking for torque numbers in the 110 -115 range
and missed that target................HP I really did not care about, it comes with torque

What I really really wanted was 110 HP and 130 - 140 ft lbs torque, but I think that is unreasonable and keep it somewhat reliable

I also must say the engine is "loosening" up a little and top end just keeps on pulling....

If you want those numbers out of a 110, you'll definitely need to do some mods...new pistons, get the crank welded and Timken conversion to handle that new torque, CNC the heads, etc....numbers really don't mean that much, what does your "seat-of-the-pants" dyno tell you?  Are you happy with how it performs?  If so, then the numbers are moot.  JMO.

I must admit it moves pretty good and not many Ultras can smoke me......but the actual expenditure of money to get this thing really

fast does amuse me.

Hopping up the Ultra is like taking the family station wagon and putting headers on it......it is a 900 pound bike with always a lot of

crap loaded in the bags. (sometimes I think I am approaching the weight of a small car)

(if speed is what you want, go out and buy a Hayabusa, it will be cheaper)

There are times I think I have lost my mind, then I log onto this site and find that I am not alone!

Has anybody changed their pulleys yet?
I am considering a 30 tooth trans, and 70 tooth rear.

Still looking for anybody who has changed their gearing. I hear there are problems with the cruise control if changed....

Mega, I don't know why my numbers seem so good compared to others and yours.  Karma?   ;)

I'll get my dyno run scanned and drop it into another reply later this weekend.  I remember a series of articles on dyno's in American Iron a couple years ago that mentioned all the variables going into a dyno run.  Among them, the experience of the tech, the type of equipment and how the equipment is calibrated.  I think the conclusion was: the only way to really compare two bikes is to have the tests run on the same equipment by the same tech at approximately the same time.

LOL!   :D You must have recorded my conversation with my wife last summer! 1100 miles and look at my sig block for what I've already added.

Presently I am telling her how much safer and more stable the bike will be at Autobahn speeds with Traxxion AK20s front cartridges and Bitubo Italian Racing shocks installed.   ::)  If she says "no" and then spends the money instead on increasing my life insurance I will know she has called me on it...

Do you have a parts list for the 2008 'Roll Your Own'? I thought that the old parts didn't work with the '08s because of the change in the throttle body.

Thanks.

I know recent posts say it will not work with a 2008 Ultra, but those are the parts I purchased and the dealer installed them prior to pickup.  I have a chrome backplate, and the K&N filter.  Hoist! said it would work, and the dealer did not mention any problems with the installation.  They could have made some minor mod to get it to fit, but it was not enough of a hassle to charge me for.

Could they have kept the stock chrome backplate and just changed the filter?  I guess so but they gave me the paper air filter and a chrome backplate that was not the one I purchased.  I never actually removed the backplate to see the PN on the back of it, but the filter fits well and does not rattle or anything.

Mega, here is the dyno run stock vs. modified.

Re: the the other part of this thread, the $35k plus options is only part of my bikes cost.  Mama's diamond necklace needs to get thrown in.  A damn expensive bike.

My torque is flat at 102.26 from 2600 through 4500 RPM, then drops off.  Your torque is peaky (is that a word) and maxes at 3500 RPM.  I wonder why they look so different?

They asked what I wanted the bike tuned for and I chose drive-ability and power, perhaps there are different goals they can tune toward?  The flat torque makes accelerating on curves much more predictable than prior to the dyno tune.  I also note my bike (up until 6250 RPM) seems to be set a bit richer than yours.

They could not save all the Dyno information to my memory stick, they tried multiple times.  I have only the paper printout to scan and it does not show the pre and post results, only the final results.  Both bikes were apparently tuned on DYNOJET RESEARCH machines so that should eliminate 1 variable.

I had the Kuryakin panacea brake/tail light installed along with LED front and rear signal lights.  But you ought to see my shopping/wish list!

I have the same pictured White and Silver 08 SEUC as others have posted. It has been named Kaspr with that name on the plate. I have added Reinhart slip-ons and a SERT. I also added windshield bags and chrome strip on windshield. I also put a chrome cover on my starter.I added a pulser switch on my tail lights so they flash when I apply the brakes. I got rid of my lowers so the motor can breath better here in AZ. I am now having a complete top end on the motor to fix the oil leaks on the head gaskets. Life is GOOD!!! As I stated on another thread I just bought an 06 Springer Softtail tricked out and now I have something to ride while my Kaspr sits in the Black Hole of Harley!! 8) 8) 8) 8) PS: J&M Shorty Antenna's.
