Those were from the same angle for comparison.  This will illustrate what you see a little better.

Just noticed still had the White Brothers mufflers on when the hitch was installed.  If anyone with Fatcats is wondering the large muffler clears without a problem.  The way all the bracketry is tucked in no muffler should be a problem.

Have the bracketry part of the hitch on the way now for the Road Glide.  Will be installing it with a rear bumper.  Don't want the bikes to be twins.  Just have to decide which rear bumper.....

With the hitch in.  Notice the black brackets outboard of the fender extension.  That's all you see of the new parts when the hitch is removed.

Don-

Now I see also that you don't have the stock filler panels-not much on your bike left stock   :)..  Maybe the stock filler panels would cover up the black brackets more   :nixweiss:??   Like you stated, not a big deal seeing the black part of the hitch bracket.

Never really thought of a trailer until the one on Craig's list showed up for $1450 and the new ones are $5,000 plus..  Trying to be informed so if another deal came along, I would know what to do.   A new trailer wouldn't be justafiable to me.  The $1450 trailer also looked great compared to a $1350 king tourpack once you get everything you need for the pack.

Missed that part, my bad.

Very little difference Bob.  The OE pieces don't extend down as much more as first impressions would suggest.  And they don't cover outboard to any greater degree.  Overall not much difference.  The tail piece hiding the receiver is what makes the big improvement/difference though.

I would have them ship the hitch to you. It's easy to put on and that would save you waiting for them to install. ;D
Bill, I agree with Rooster - do it yourself.  I've put the regular style (before they had the vertical receiver) on two bikes and then switched over to the vertical receiver and it has been on two bikes.  Pretty simple and not much to it really.  Electrical hookup is also pretty straightforward.

You've got enough help from site members if you have questions when you get started.

Smart (replacement) ass.  Now you've actually got me curious though.

Red bike has stock wheels, mirrors, tins, transmission (case), lower end (which is actually something of a worry), sprocket (no kidding, no stealth chrome), chain, instruments (except the rain gauge is gone), boards, harness and fuel injectors.  See, it's stock.

Yea, but I bet there are more "blue arrows" showing things that aren't stock. :P ;D

Jerry (grc) isn't it about time for an updated illustration? :huepfenlol2:

That's ok Gary.  Blue though its field may be that is not its mood.  It runs well again and is fun to be out on.  Can't ask for more.
