I called my dealer last week to see if he knew anything and it was all news to him.

I was talking to the guys at my local store's parts counter & they didn't even know there was a problem with the 110"s.....

shocker? not really, sad I guess....

Anyway, it sure didn't sound like they'd been sent field repair kits, which is really what any "fix" will be.  More like a tire patch, in my mind.  Sure, a patched tire might hold air forever.  But it's always gonna be in the back of your mind, until that tire's replaced.....

I quoted my dealer last night in his person regarding the fix issue he told me of several weeks ago. He said "we've been getting parts from Harley since mid April to fix the problems. And so far everthing seems o.k. with the fix" I asked if i could read the service bulletion he said was coming. We farted around the dealership looking for this,, nothing, he said they never received a bulletion, just parts. The service manager said they are using a new gasket but all other parts share the same part numbers. He said that doesn't mean Harley didn't fix quality issues with those parts, which i suspect. The service manager told me he got a service bulletin early April regarding gaskets and only stated what not to use and which one too use. So there you are folks... That's my follow up......Doesn't sound too good.

- on the side, service manager said he will not do any mods above stage 1 without doing other reinforcements. One he is telling anyone wanting cams to go with cam gear arrangement, two, he wont modify an engine without checking crank and said most of the time he ends up sending out to get aligned and welded. Three, He favors Axtel jugs, claiming cooler running and Four, wont touch a DTT or Thundermax ignition,, he hates em.. loves the SE and Power Commander. He said get through these issues and the 110 motor can be built to pull stumps all day long. I just wonder how much all the chit cost....

More than I'm willing to pay for an engine that should have been "right" to begin with.  Maybe if there is a major benefactor on the site who'd be willing to pay for me to do an $8.5K upgrade to my engine, then I might do it.   ;)

If the problem with the 110 was a combo problem (as mine was both front & rear) of head gaskets leaking due to cylinder slip, is it too far fetched to figure that.....

the MoCo would consider a new head gasket design (they already did) and maybe tighten/change the specs on cylinders (and/or bonding agents)? Then ship new parts to fix the problem?

The expectations that dealers will get a 110 Magic Wand Fix-it Kit notwithstanding, sometimes the "fix" is kinda mundane, not involving radioactivity plus pixie dust or anything similar........

Only 'new - improved' parts I know of are the 'B' head gasket, new 'A' ACRs and new 'square' (vs o-ring) base seals.  But these are not the 'fix' that has been referred to and is still to come.  I think that will have to involve new design cylinders since these seem to be at the root of our problems.

I wish we weren't all in this wait and see mode, but that's just the reality of the situation. IT still is coming although just what IT is, is still a mystery, but definitely, IT is coming and IT isn't anything our dealers have told us about yet.

That's probably because the MoCo is not talking about IT either.  :nervous:

They are, and the wheels are in motion. We just haven't seen the results of their work yet. I don't think my dealer will know anything until the parts hit the parts counter and then they'll aske "What are these here for?" :nixweiss:

I got a customer satisfaction survey last night. It was the "now that you've had your se ultra for 18 months what do you think?" I went on about a lot but i did mention, two engine rebuilds due to leaking with the 3rd due now since i have 14,000 miles (happens every 4-5000 miles). I'm affraid to ride my $36,000.00 motorcycle to sturgis, how's that for customer satisfaction >:(. My 06 is perfect, my 08 is perfect, my 07 110 is a disgrace as far as reliability and their no action is a disgrace as well. My answer didn't help the situation but at least i got to vent.
