Is there a problem with using the Screamin Eagle Logo. Just the birds head?. I know that the slogan "Screamin Eagle" is copy written but is there a trademark issue with the birds head?

Also if Naitram is in agreement, everyone could submit ideas and then the membership could vote on them. Business cards, patches, stickers or whatever.

There's no problem with any particular idea Stickman.  We're just at a point now where a first idea had been out there long enough to gain something of a concensus.  Given the numbers of people involved here there never will be universal agreement.  So once a generally recognized good idea gets out there and it's generally agreed to we might as well go with it.  That's where we are now with the idea presented above.  The only thing yet to decide is that last line of text currently being decided in the poll at the top of this thread.

Honestly, all three are "Wordy".  I realize what you are trying to say but none are concise nor catchy.

not exactly what I am trying to say but

"...for the Journey and the Destination"

Ditto for me.  I'm not crazy about the 3 choices we have, but I'll go with what gets voted in.  Oh, and I do like the flag and eagle.  Anyways, Let's Roll

I didn't vote because all 3 choices don't quite get it....I like "because life is a journey" or
something like "Its the journey as much as the destination" I don't think we need the "interested in" stuff in the poll choices. Lets hear some more ideas...there is no real rush is there? [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

Either here or in PM some have asked for card availability for Sturgis.  Again though, no option is going to please everyone.  Just won't happen.  When the ones now listed were originally offered for two or three days no other alternatives were suggested.

So we have options that don't suck.  Do get a message across.  And while they may not be everyone's first choice they don't offend a soul.  So, yeah, at this point we'll work with what we've got and get a card built for distribution sooner rather than later.

TWOLANE - if you try to please everyone we'll never get the cards  [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif] - distribute and then the original cards will be collectors items when & if the design ever changes  [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif]- so actually you are giving everyone a chance to get a colletcors item

We could have an annual business card design contest or something.  Do it right around when the new models come out, just to have a date, even if we don't use any of the bike images on the card itself. [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

that might not be a bad idea, but if the card changes every year, the situation we're in now. what do we do with the old ones?

Naitram, if you give them all out - there won't be any old cards.

- and hopefully the url will never change so in fact the old or the new all do the same job.

The reason for the cards?  To invite others to join us here, share a camaraderie and a passion for CVO bikes.  I think it is a pretty cool idea and a whole lot easier than trying to tell someone how to search for the site by the nomenclature of a bike, that I can't remember myself.

The more that share great ideas the more money I can save by not going the wrong way.  I hope at any rate.   [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif] [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif]

Uh, am I the only one who feels like the ideas shared on this site has cost them more money than it has saved? [smiley=nervous.gif] [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]

look at it this way, if you take the info here and buy something and be done instead of buying a bunch of things and doing trial and error then you have saved right?

Hey 103, Naitram understood what I was talking about.  I would oh so much rather listen to folks such as yourself, who are riding a bike like mine, about what works and what doesn't.  The HD store that sold me a race tuner that they could not tune cost me a lot of money.  [smiley=thumbsdown.gif]

They don't know about my bike like the folks that have one.  Yes, you might buy something for your bike that you did not even think about because you heard about it here, but wouldn't you rather hear that is was a good thing than find out for yourself that it just wasn't all that great?  I think that saves money.  Well at least I will try to keep telling myself that.   [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif] [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif]

Yeah, I knew what you were saying, Mrs.We.  It just struck me as funny talking about this site saving us money.  Hogtunes, Progressives and MP3 players are just a few of the things I "had to have" after getting the idea from this site.  Heck, I even purchased my trailer from a member here.

20 votes in the poll so far with only a dozen or so commited to getting some cards.  That means there's at least 8 of you out there who've expressed an opinion on the cards what you but haven't told me yet who you are so you can buy some  [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif]
