I noticed a huge difference on mine, especially when I had one speaker go out and had to install stock back on until pez fixed me up with another set. Was thankful when they came in. [smiley=laugh.gif] Hope you find the problem. I'm sure you made sure it wasn't a connection problem. [smiley=nixweiss.gif] Good luck and God Bless!

Because the way the terminals are on the speakers, I don't think this could happen, but just in case, make sure they are not out of phase.  Simply stated, be sure the same color leads are on the same terminals of each speaker.  If not, they will loose their bass, and probably some efficiency.
Mine have a much better dynamic range than stock, thus you can hear them better over the wind noise.

Hey there

The easy way to test for phase is----have the stereo playing, and listen for bass response. Then adjust the balance all the way to one side---if all of a sudden there is a lot more bass--run the balance back to the centre--listen again--and then run the balance to the other side---if there is bass when the balance is at each extreme but not in the middle--the speakers are in fact wired out of phase---but unless someone cut off the factory connectors--this would be very hard to do, as our product is such a direct replacmement. Please check this out--and feel free to email me if your still concerned--one way or another--we will get you hooked up!

Outstanding!!!  I ordered a set of Hogtunes speakers from Pez yesterday.  I had a couple of questions which I emailed to him and received almost immediate replies.  Pez confirmed by email that my speakers would be shipped out early today.  I got that email at about 10 p.m.!!!  I asked him what the he#@ he was doing working that time of night and his reply was, "Coffee keeps me up, Crown Royal puts me down - I ride for the fun of it!"  A rather cool individual who obviously knows his chit!  (i.e. that last speaker "out of phase" explanation confused the heck out of me, but sure sounded good!) - Here's yur Crown Pez - drink up!   [smiley=drink.gif]   -PJ

I agree, we should just wish for 10% of the customer service from HD, that PEZ seems to give.  When the Corbin seat I ordered from Harley wouldn't fit right, it took me 6 weeks and a threat of filing a complaint with Visa to get a refund.  I own a business, and I know how hard it is to get a customer, and how easy it is to lose one.
My speakers have been great!

Hmmmm

If I was CEO of HD--what would I do first..........

1) Teach ALL dealers that customers are not pond scum--and that customers can CHOOSE where to spend their hard earned dollars

2) Fire the person who hired an English Gay Popstar named Elton to do the 100th--Even Elton had to know this was a bad idea!

3) Produce a CVO Vrod with a Road Glide fairing-and call it V Glide-cause its soooo cool

4) Send a letter to the "Emmisions Nazis" tellin em to jam it

5) Once and for all admit synthetic oil was ALWAYS OK

Hmmmm If I could only do it for 1 day....,....... [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]

Everyone,

I was walking around Sturgis and my cell phone rings, I check out the call identifier and I notice 905 Area Code, I ask myself who the hell is calling me from Mississauga, Ontario, Canada as I told all of our people not to call last week. Lo and behold it is Pez checking on the Hog Tunes he had shipped to Calgary HD to replace a set damaged in an accident in Oregon in early May.

He wanted to know if I was happy with the performance of the new Hog Tunes and I told hm yes and they sounded great.

He also had to remind me of the Volume Control Adjustment on my iPod as I had forgotten about it,

Talk about Customer Follow Up and Appreciation.

Anyway, thanks Pez, thanks for the call.

When are you going to come out with your Mini Amp? Hope I did not let the cat out of the bag. But you people with the CVO bikes already have an Amp. It is us lowly Road Glide drivers who need the improvement. As the fairing and speakers are quite further away than the handlebar mounted farings.

Hey Leo

Hope you had a good trip. I starting beta testing an amplifier Thursday. I have it hooked into a display I have now, and have tested it for heat, and dead shorts, and so far so good.  There will be an outstanding feature on the amp which I cannot go into at this time, as I will be in a license agreement with an outside vendor--it will be cool! I will not release the amp till it is perfect. For business reasons, I think the amp will come with a plate to mount in a Classic fairing, and I will stock the Road Glide plate separatley

WIll keep you in the loop!

Cheers--PEZ--BTW--DId the IPOD volume thing solve your issue?

Here are the specific observations I have made regarding the HogTunes.
1. The quality of sound is better.
2. The volume seems to reach peak at about the halfway point on the control as opposed to nearly the full point before. This gives the impression of more volume but in my case the gain is just quicker.
3. I don't really notice much difference at all on the MP3 player which is a POS anyway. I am not pleased at all with the MP3 player performance.
4. The speakers are wired correctly BTW and the head unit works fine.

Hey OMSCAT

I dont know what Roadtech was thinking witgh that MP3--there is a serious gain mismatch between the MP3 and the HD Radio--I believe it can be fixed, but an in line preamp is required, and since roadteck did not use standard connectors--would have to be made to work. My local dealer has been after me to figure a plug and play way to make it work easily to get unhappy people off his back. I can do it but its $$$$

IMHO--Cheaper to get an IPOD and be done with it
