Howie, if you actually end up with a reliable bike, we are going to need another poster child to take your place.

Any suggestions for Howie replacement?

Poster child of ill spent money on engine builds only to have to do it again?
Sorry Howie, it was the best I could do on short notice and you have shown to be a good sport.

Nominations anyone?   Henry? Chip?

That’s good to hear. I gather that Henry had some trouble.

Sounds like North Carolina is pretty mild this time of year and you are making the most of it; must be a scream! I’ve ridden through North Carolina and you folks apparently do things a little differently around there. :) The hot tip is to bury the part in a sandy loam with just a touch of compost and a sprinkle of Old Milwaukee.

Speaking of snow; running any of the large displacement sleds on the trails in Michigan’s U.P. is an absolute blast. The big iron runs between 140 and 170 hp, out of the box, and there are no daytime speed limits. During the middle of the week, in select spots, if you can hang on you can run 100+ MPH legally all day long. The trails are usually insane on the weekends. I believe that if your need for speed is not met under these circumstances, you are most likely broken. Mistakes on the trails in the triple digits can be problematic, so you need to keep your head up.

I still prefer the off trail, back country riding in the winter. An ideal temperature for this is 0 to +10 degrees. If it gets up near freezing, you’ll quickly become soaking wet.

Now I’m getting all jacked up about this stuff again; I’ll try burnin’ off some steam on the sofa.  :smilie_staub:

Guilty as charged.  But the motorcycle will not stay broken.
Chip's motorcycles are too well cared for to break down.  I'm tryin' to get him to learn me a few things about how he keeps his motorcycles in such great shape.

I believe the French word “smidge” roughly translates to “pisspot full of money” in English American. :)

Sorry to hear about the fecal happenings with your machine. It seems that you are practiced at dealing with adversity; good for you, and good luck with your new engine.

:ROFLOL:  Just learning to love the rope, dj.  Hopefully this time it pays off.  If not........we'll do it again.  Certainly can't let it stay broke.

Howie,

Wow at least I am only partially killing Howie then being I have a FD and a Roadking.  Very unsettling when the WFO NY guy settles.   Who knows, this might be the start of something big.

Howie slows down ....   please one of you guys tell me snow balls are in hell now ?

Welp I am out of here its 80 degrees and sunny time for a ride to Naples Florida for the weekend ..   ;D

Speaking of snow ~

Quick question for you guys in the snow hit areas ..   Why was the snowman standing on the side of the road with pants down?

He was waiting for the snow blower :)
