The leather conditioner is for the aftermarket seat you will buy soon. That one will be leather. I put my stock seat back on to take my wife out (usually ride w/ a C&C solo), and what a difference. The stocker is SOOOO uncomfortable by comparison, and the "leather" is a little slippery. That said, I'd like to have a perfect stock seat so I can put it in a box, and save for the next guy to keep the bike looking new (I may even Armor All it).
Let us know if their really is a difference. My buddy just got a longer rear seat bracket, supposedly just to force the seat forward some more. No new seat.
Hey Rich, it was nice running into you last weekend. How funny we meet up again a few hours later at a stop light...
My seat is getting bad with over a 1/2" gap already with just a week of riding. At first it was just back when I was sitting on it and now after I get off the bike it stays WAY back from the console. I've not noticed that it was coming off the front retaining hook though. I really like the looks of the C&C solo seat you have, compliments your bike very well.
I put my Sundowner seat on that I bought about a year ago for my '08 SERK and it comes up about an inch on the tank console without ANY pulling back off the console when I sit on the seat.
I agree with everyone here that this is not rocket science and this is not new territory for seat making.
Actually Linda and I kind of like this seat for the 100 to 200 mile weekend jaunts around here. The Sundowner, although one of the ugliest seats available, is more comfortable for the all day trips.
By the way Rich, where did you pick up the magnetic covers for the docking station? I see they're listed in the HD P&A catalog, but at $39.95. I think you said you picked yours up for around $20.00.
After Linda heard you 2" Fullsacs she asked what size there were. I told her and she said that she wanted even more noise, but I really like the 2" sound level you have and it IS much more mellow than I thought it would be.
We'll have to get together with JP after he gets back from his northeast vacation.
