Has anyone with access to a 2008 or later model Road Glide measured the distance from the seat attach screw to the "hook" near the gas tank?  I bet that distance has increased with the 09 frame and the MOCO did NOT redesign the seat to fit.  Hence, the seat is too short/flexible.

The MOCO must know they've screwed up with this seat with all of us getting them replaced under warranty.  I'm sure they're just hoping this will blow over.  Hopefully our latest idea with entering safety complaints with the NTSB will change some things.

On a side note, have you noticed how long the 09 SE Ultra seat is?  A good 2" longer than ours.

I talked to the warranty person at my dealer yesterday. They are going to replace the seat, probably with the same design. However, she said that the MOCO is aware that the seat can pop loose and they are looking into a solution. While a recall is doubtful, you can likely look forward to a Harley bulletin to deal with the seat. In the meantime, I modified the rear tang so the seat slides further forward. At least now it don't pop loose while I'm riding.

In march i rode a 2009 Streetglide standard in Florida , the seat was ok , this seat should fit also the SERG , would you agree ?
One could meassure this one or try whether it would fit .

I have no doubt "other" harley seats will fit and have no problem buying a new seat (that's not the point).  The point is that it's a custom Leather seat found only on the CVO that I paid extra for and it doesn't work.  It'd be kinda like paying for a $1000 hooker for the night only to find out she had a headache. >:(

My new "redesigned" seat came in today. The service writer says it is much stiffer than my original and sitting on it does not cause the front to move. I will pick the bike up tomorrow and see for myself..............

Got my seat replaced under warranty. Got the bike back today. The seat is the same as the original seat. It still detaches from the front seat tang. I told the dealer to file another warranty claim and get me another seat. The dealer suggested I call MOCO Customer Service and talk to them. I got mad. I told the dealer that I didn't care how much of their time they spent dealing with this, how much it cost them or the MOCO or how many times I have to file a warranty claim, I will not let this matter rest until the MOCO gives me a seat that is safe and doesn't pop off the bike while riding. Maybe I should have my lawyer write both the dealer and the MOCO a letter.

Then what the heck was that tag hanging off the seat that said leather?  And why did I get a can of leather conditioning with the bike when I bought it new?  I'm confused.

None of us have any idea why we got the leather conditioner, and I have not seen any "leather" tags hanging on any of the new SERGS I looked at before or since I bought mine. Really though just look at the seat, what made you think it was cowhide? It's not even high grade vinyl.

I'm no fabric expert, I was just going by the leather tag I removed (I wish I kept it), the leather conditioner and the fact that it was a "hand made limited edition" CVO.

I'm on my 3rd warranty seat and have no issues with the gap.  I think HD fixed the issue.  I'll post more after my 1000 mile trip this weekend.

The leather conditioner is for the aftermarket seat you will buy soon.  That one will be leather.  I put my stock seat back on to take my wife out (usually ride w/ a C&C solo), and what a difference.  The stocker is SOOOO uncomfortable by comparison, and the "leather" is a little slippery.  That said, I'd like to have a perfect stock seat so I can put it in a box, and save for the next guy to keep the bike looking new (I may even Armor All it).

Let us know if theeir really is a difference.  My buddy just got a longer rear seat bracket, supposedly just to force the seat forward some more.  No new seat.

Hey Rich, it was nice running into you last weekend.  How funny we meet up again a few hours later at a stop light...

My seat is getting bad with over a 1/2" gap already with just a week of riding.  At first it was just back when I was sitting on it and now after I get off the bike it stays WAY back from the console.  I've not noticed that it was coming off the front retaining hook though.  I really like the looks of the C&C solo seat you have, compliments your bike very well.

I put my Sundowner seat on that I bought about a year ago for my '08 SERK and it comes up about an inch on the tank console without ANY pulling back off the console when I sit on the seat.

I agree with everyone here that this is not rocket science and this is not new territory for seat making.

Actually Linda and I kind of like this seat for the 100 to 200 mile weekend jaunts around here.  The Sundowner, although one of the ugliest seats available, is more comfortable for the all day trips.

By the way Rich, where did you pick up the magnetic covers for the docking station?  I see they're listed in the HD P&A catalog, but at $39.95.  I think you said you picked yours up for around $20.00.

After Linda heard you 2" Fullsacs she asked what size there were.  I told her and she said that she wanted even more noise, but I really like the 2" sound level you have and it IS much more mellow than I thought it would be.

We'll have to get together with JP after he gets back from his northeast vacation.
