I went to Laconia every year from 69 to 97. In those days, we rode in on Thursday night and rode home on Sunday. This week long thing is the Daytona/Sturgis effect. I would say over that 28 year span it was nice ridin in on Thursday, nice on Friday, always hot on Saturday and rained a lot on the way home on Sunday. Last year was my first since 97 and of course it rained a bunch, but I headed to
St. Marie, Canada on Saturday through Maine under absolutely beautiful clear cool skies. One of the things that makes long rides such an adventure is weather. Look at Sturgis 04. 109 in Vegas, 99 in Colorado and then mostly 60's once we got to Sturgis. Biketoberfest this year. Hot and humid all week and then of course WILMA at the end of the week, then mid 30's to low 50's back across I-20 till I hit New Mexico and Arizona and then once through Yuma, 60's in Cal.
