Well, I wanted a Street Glide and told my wife I was trading in my 06 Heritage.  I did tell her when I made the decision that they better not have a CVO Street Glide this year....guess what???  The 2010 SESG was on Harley web site!!!  I fell in love with the spiced rum immediately and absolutely loved the gold flake stripe.  I told her I would be spending just a weeeee bit more this year....  :bananarock:

I did have to wait 6 months before the delivery in the spring of 2010, but it was worth it!! :2vrolijk_21:

It was 2008 and I had just returned from 15 months in Iraq when I was looking to buy a new Harley. So, after weeks of looking thru dealers inventories online I saw my soon to be dream machine; a red 2008 FXDSE2. The next day I went in to the dealership and fell in love with everything about her except for the price. But after talking with a friend of mine about the price he asked me one important question? Is it everything you want? My answer was yes, so I went back to the dealership the next day and bought her. Since then Reba and I have been very happy together.

I love everything about Reba, but told myself during my first long road trip on her that when H-D comes out with a SG CVO I was going to buy it. So now I find myself in Afghanistan and just finished signing my divorce papers with my actual wife (not Reba) I decided it was time to fall in love once again. So I just ordered a 2011 SESG. I hope Reba doesn’t get jealous

No wonder my wife divorced me!

My wife bought mine as a 25 year anniversary gift.  I was told to pick the color, saw a brochure on the 2010 cuse-blk and went to work.  It took me almost a year to get it with waiting for the official winter meeting, then waiting for delivery.  My dealer thought I was crazy to put a deposit on a bike he had no clue if harley would build or not, but took the money and said if it didn't happen I could get it back.

A friend of mine had an 09 FLTRSE3 and I thought what a great looking bike, I already had a new 2008 FLTR but when I went to HD's 105th and saw the orange and black, I was hooked so the process started all over again, sell the 2008 to get the new 2009 SE but I don't regret it for a minute. Other than lowers, tour pak and RH slip ons I've only put fuel and Amsoil into into. The few small concerns I did have were quickly resolved by my dealer, it was funny, the service manager would say, "You pay enough for these, they should always be right" and my repairs were done right away, maybe had to do with being my third new bike purchase in three years, but hey, the recognition of being a CVO owner is great. You don't need anything else on it as is pointed out by others on this sight and it's the one that people see at bike night at the coffee shop. Some people who don't own CVOs or HDs and own other makes of bikes think you're crazy for dishing out the cash we did, but they wouldn't get it if it hit them in the face anyway, not that I'm putting them down for what they ride, but they have that "puzzled look" when they know the scratch you've ponied up, I get a kick out of it!!! lol.  :2vrolijk_21:

At the time, I was riding a BMW R1200CLC, their version of a full-dress cruiser.  Nice bike, but it didn't really have any "personality".  I was looking to replace it with something with a little more pizazz.  I never thought of myself as a Harley guy, but decided to check them out anyway.  I wound up picking a Heritage Softail with the 105th Anniversary paint job that was due at the dealership about four weeks hence.  Well, my sales guy gave me a full-line brochure, which I took home. I nearly wore the ink off the pages flipping through it.  However, the bike that really caught my eye was the Screamin' Eagle Road King. The Twilight/Candy Cobalt blue paint job looked spectacular, I loved the styling and the fact that it was a limited production machine.  So, I called my salesman and asked if there was any chance they were getting a bike like that in.  To my utter surprise, he said they had a blue one coming in very soon.  That was it!  I was hooked.  I still remember walking into the dealership and seeing the bike in person for the first time.  It was just beautiful - the photos online and in the brochure did not do it justice.  It was like seeing diamonds set in a deep blue summer sky!
The rest is history...

My first new HD was a 2003 RK Classic, like so many of us, lots of $'s in extras, love the bike, still have it. 2004  was an FNG on Run For The Wall. Came home decided my next bike was going to be a CVO Ultra Classic, started looking at new CVO's, there is no doubt about it the money for the CVO is well worth the investment. As we all know economy is on a downturn and I am self-employed small general contractor. Started looking for a used CVO, buddy of mine worked in local HD dealership, calls me up, you are not going to believe what just came in the door. 2009 CVO Ultra Classic, 2500 miles, previous owner traded it in, he wanted a bike that had more bling, go figure. Same dealership I bought the 03 from, made me a fair deal, the CVO was mine! I love the bike. Did RFTW in 2010, everything I had hoped for and more. Only one small minor issue, I am no tecky guy, nobody including the dealership knows how to operate the GPS. Looking forward to RFTW 2011 across this great nation.

I had on occasion looked at CVO bikes at my local HD to be impressed with everything about the bike except the price. Still had never seen a color and graphics combo that I loved. I had viewed the 09SEUC in Stardust Silver/Sapphire Blue on the Harley website and thought it looked OK. One day coming home, I stopped at a dealer in Georgia and right up front under a spot light was a 09SEUC in Stardust Silver. At first I didn't know it was a CVO, I just knew I LOVED,LOVED,LOVED the flake in the Silver paint and the whole paint and graphics. I heard that voice, I must buy this bike! It was the first bike that ever made me feel that way. Rushed back down there on Saturday with my wife in tow to show her which bike we were buying and guess what? YEP it was GONE! CHIT! So the journey began, first task at hand was pay off my 03RKC, then search for 09SEUC. Short story, June 1st 2010, found site, joined on June 4th same day a member PM'd me with info about bike I was searching for. June 4/5th, had traveled 11 hours and was in Erie, PA signing the papers for my new to me 09SEUC with only 5,000 miles on the clock. And the rest as they say is history. So I guess the short answer to the OP could have been because to me it was the best looking bike I had seen. All the bling doesn't hurt either. I like to be different.

For a military retirement gift and a reward for moving her closer to her family, the wife told me to pick what I want.

As far as picking the CVO?

My wife and I always talked about one day buying a bagger. But while we were looking for a new helmet for her she saw the 2011 Autumn Haze in the showroom. After trying desperately to get her away from the scooter she asked the question: "how much do you think they'd give us for the Deuce?" 5 1/2 hours later I was riding home, way after closing, on our new CVO.

I think I'll keep the wife for a few more years!
