Guys, years ago I had large exhausts that came up close to the bottom of the saddle bag.  I'm from Calif. where it often gets up around 110F on a summer day. Not sure how hot these exhausts are getting now days but even on Evo's, they were to hot to have to close to the saddle bags if you carry anything in them.  I got a pretty serious burn reaching in a grabbing a hand full of wrenches.

Don't want to rain on anybody's parade......just sayin you might want to consider keeping a little space between your exhaust and the bottom of the saddlebag. :nixweiss:

One of the problems with the baggers up to '08 with the cats in the mufflers, yep, they got very hot, especially on a hot day!
Lets see, CA models with cats in the mufflers........1994- 2008?? Can't remember!

Here you go have a listen this clip is with just the slip ons installed. Nice Harley sound but still quite domesticated. Stereo is no problem to hear while riding.

Sounds great - is this with the cat still in the pipes or did you core them out?  Want these for my new Candy Concorde baby arriving end of Feb in Singapore.

Finally pulled the trigger on a a new system for the bike:  Ended up going to my local shop, Pokerville Ironworks, and ordering the V&H Hi Outputs, Dresser Duals, with the Power Commander V and Auto Tuner set up.  I really like the idea of the auto tuner and how it makes the adjustments on the fly, just like we're all used to in our vehicles.  IMO, it's about time that the motorcycle technology catches up to what the auto industry has been doing.

I just wasn't getting any help from my dealer who just wanted to put a set of slip ons, SE Race Tuner and run it on the Dyno.  And, I'm a bit afraid of putting a bike with 0 miles on a dyno and maxing it out like they did with my other bikes; that just can't be a good thing to do during the break in period :-\  Either way, I'm excited to get my bike out of storage and get it out to Pokerville to have them start working on it, even if we won't be riding here for another couple of months >:(

I'll have Will at Pokerville do some videos so that I can post when the work gets done.

I am having V&H Power Duals with the Hi Output mufflers installed on my SESG before I even sit on it. The dealer recommends setting it up with a SERT that way there will be no warranty issues with the bike. They will set it up for the proper air fuel mix for the break in period and make some adjustments after that and put it on the dyno if I'd like.  :2vrolijk_21:
I have always been a carb guy and not sure on the best route to go with the fuel injection tuning, does this sound like a good mix here?  :nixweiss:

Hi JC,

I asked the V&H guys what they recommended for for the bike and another is their 'High Output Slip-ons'

Compatible with Dresser duals, Power Duals and CVO drop skirt bags.

These do look good IMO

I own a CVO SESG and recently installed the V&H power chamber headers with the High Output slipons which are 4 1/2".  They sound great and look even better.  With this set-up and HD pro tuner I'm getting 108 torque and 95 HP at 4K and 5K RPM range respectively.

Good numbers, about what I got, only difference is that it seems your torque is peaking a bit late, should be more around 3200-3500.  :nixweiss: The stock cams are pretty good at low end torque and the power chamber should do nothing but enhance that lower-end.  HP seems to be peaking about right.

Keep in mind that may only pertain to your dealer.  Technically you voided the warranty, as did all of us that changed our pipes and then re-mapped the ECM.  So your dealer will, hopefully be standup, like mine is and honor the warranty because they did the work, but don't count on any other dealership.  But also remember, the burden is on the dealership/MoCo to prove that the failure your trying to get fixed under warranty was caused by the modifications made.

I have been reading most of the threads on mods for the 2010SESG but do not recall seeing any mention of the slip ons made by CFR.  Has anyone put them on their bikes?  I rented an Ultra while in Phoenix last week and it had a set of the CFRs.  Sound was great. Just wanted to check with you guys about them before I bought a set.

The Vance & Hines "Monster Round" mufflers (due for release in mid April) are similar to the "Monster Ovals" but round.  They are one of V&H's "Blue Proof" designs and have a built in "Heat Shield".  That is one of the reasons I am waiting for those.  Should make a difference in the amount of heat transferred to the saddlebags.

That's a nice looking exhaust.  Says it's available now on their web site.  Let us know what you think of them.

Thanks devil, I understand and hope to never have a warranty issue to deal with however, should it ever arise I will need the support of my dealer therefore, I will follow their recommendations for now as long as it makes sense to do so.  :2vrolijk_21:
