This mid-year release is a dirty trick by the Moco, bring out a great new color scheme that rocks, after people do what they have to, to even get one, then..... oh yeah by the way we have a nice new black paint scheme. urghh!!! Then on top of that they make a half hearted attemp to upgrade the GPS tech on the bike. What gives??? Just a little frustrated by the whole situation. Well the on the bright side my Blue and Gray SEUC is in at J&L HD in Sioux Falls, SD. Maybe I'll still be further ahead by purchasing this one???  :(

Figures, I do like the color and would rather have it. Although I do agree with most of you guys the moco could have finished blacking out the other items mentioned.
It wouldn't be 'right' if they didn't leave you a reason to 'spend-spend-spend'.  :toff: :toff: :toff:$$$$$$$  har.  :drink: spyder

Wait until you see the bike in person before you make this decision - I too like the paint scheme and some of the blacked out parts but some of the pictures I have seen do not look that good and the crazy thing is they are not moco's pic.  Usually the website and moco pics do not do the bike justice - and until you see a pic on another website or the bike in person it just doesn' look that good.  This time it seems the opposite moco makes this bike look awesome in their pics but some of the other pics in this thread the bike looks just so-so IMO.

I really did not like your paint scheme UNTIL I saw it person - You have a sweet bike :2vrolijk_21: and there is nothing wrong with the paint scheme and it is Chromed out CVO style too.

The good news is if you see the other bike and fall in love with that paint scheme and just have to have it - the dealer will probally give you $30,000 for trade on your bike  ;D of course that is with you paying MSRP with prep and freight :D :huepfenlol2: :D

Us stockholders aren't real happy right now either.  Below $24 Friday.....
 >:(

Saying that, I believe the fall is due to Wall St. being scared to death of Mr Obama, not what HD has or has not done!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but the stock plummet has more to do with 4th Qtr sales which dropped off a cliff (down 40%) and the drop in global shipments (down 53%). I'm afraid the stock probably has much further to fall if unit sales don't pickup dramatically this Spring. Revenue was down 45% in the 4th qtr compared to the 4th Qtr of 2008. Not a pretty picture and somehow I doubt a blacked-out SE Ultra with a half-hearted attempt at modernizing the navigation system is going to turn things around.

Black goes together with chrome kinda like Harley goes together with Davidson. The color is nice but it would have been drop dead gorgeous if it had all the CVO Ultra chrome. Sorry, but blacked out bikes do nothing for me.

I think I will have to wait and see it in person. It is amazing how different the pics look with the white background vs. the Black.

Thanks T MAC, I do agree with what you are saying about pictures verse real life. I wanted the burnt amber/hot citrus real bad, and I have yet to see one other than in a picture. I was well into an 11 day trip and my wife kept telling me she could see green flake in my paint and all I could see was gold flake. Then one day at the same time she saw the gold and I saw the green.

OH great thanks, :-\ if I get rid of this bike just to get the black one, I'll be riding 1 up and sleeping on it.  ;)

You're right in my mind.  I like the CVO's because of the extra chrome (among other things naturally!).  Blacked out bikes don't turn my head.  The CVO's have a certain "art" quality to them and this new color I think has that quality...

I'm one of those that the blacked out bike does nothing for me, also.  I heard a lot of the same at the Easyriders Bike Show a couple of weeks ago.

But this bike would look great with the chrome put back on it and the tour pack removed like Jim did on Jonga's 10 SEUC....  http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=45607.0

Besides the orange SEUC, this is the only other one that has a decent paint scheme.......that looks like the colors belong together. :nixweiss:

I, for one, am very interested in the new black bike. I have put in an order to the dealer. It will, however, in the end depend, on the trade-in for my '09.

Besides this, I can't really understand issues people have with "why are the pipes not black" with probably 80% of the pipes changed to aftermarket anyway.

And it is true that there are some little things (like the hinges), which are not optimal. But hey, who does not make mods right after taking delivery of the new CVO? I know I do, and I know I will. It is part of making it mine.

Regarding to the GPS, I like the Zumo. It is sure better than the built-in GPS, and Harley has acknowledged this by adding the Garmin range of motorcycle GPS units to their P&A catalogue for a while. While the Zumo maybe only included with the limited black CVO for know, it will surely be available with all bagger CVO's in the future. Note that the price difference between the three colors and the black one is approximately the street price of the Zumo unit. The location up in the fairing works well for me, it is closest to the line of sight, and preferable to any place lower in the fairing or elsewhere. The separate cable looks a little stupid.

Finally, for those guys who do prefer chrome (and I like chrome too), there are still the three other colors, plus the range of the three CVO Street Glides to choose from for a 2010 CVO bagger - and all have plenty of chrome to start.

Ride safely,
Louis

I'm in the same camp. I'll be surprised if the dealer's don't find themselves selling these Blacked out CVO's below list.

If you get this bike, I think you're going to find that the location for the GPS mount is not ideal. The bat wing fairing has a fair amount of vibration and that vibration is going to transfer to the Zumo's screen. Its also further away from your hand for making adjustments.

After many years of riding with my Zumo attached in various locations, I have found that the the left side of the handlebar closest to the hand controls gives the best field of view while riding, closest proximity to your left hand for entries into the screen and the least amount of vibration. Just my $.02.
