Just finished the Hertz speaker install. Thanks for the info Jeff. Hadn't heard of these till I read your thread. Bill @ Biketronics is awesome. The install was pretty easy. The lowers needed a little persuasion though. The grills didn't want to fit very easy so I used a small rubber mallet and gently tapped them on the rest of the way. The same with getting them back into the the lower fairings. Just lined up the holes, started the screws, gave the speakers a few little taps then tightened the rest of the way. And as Jeff said make sure Bill sends the wiring adapters for each speaker that you change. They all have the wrong connectors. These speakers sound so much better than the ones from the factory. The quality is night and day. They are a little less efficient so you do need to turn them up about 2 bars higher to get the same volume out of them, but there is way more sound. As for the factory tweets, they will be too loud with the new install so Bill suggested that I go to Radio Shack and pick up a pair of 1 ohm resisters and put them inline. Again an easy install. Now the speakers are at about the same level. So I gave them a test run up to 100 mph. At 3/4 volume with the Automatic Volume Control set at the 2nd bar the system sounds great!! Thanks again for the info Jeff.
