Everything you ever wanted to share with the MOCO
« on: March 16, 2011, 06:30:46 PM »

While in Rapid City SD in '09 a few of our members met with Representatives from HD. Among the many things confirmed during that meeting was the fact that this site is regularly visited but not posted by these Reps.

Soooo, in an effort to save them time I thought we could offer one thread to share our ideas and make it easy reading for these guys. Just a thought .... fire away except Twolane

Great idea.
1. Comfortable stock seats for rider and passenger
2. Front and rear suspension for the 21st century
3 a roadglide fairing that can be re-installed with less grief.
4. a windscreen that works vs one that looks good
5  tire air sensors that report when you need to add air.

I'll let someone else take it from here.

In light of current events, less parts made offshore.  Doc

Good Chrome and Quality Control!

see here:

Their chrome and QC have gone to chit.

The OE Chrome over steel seems to still be fine.

The P&A stuff and accessory stuff on the CVOs is rubbish.

Billet brake lever.. gone to crap.. no copper in the plating.. it is base metal aluminum, nickle, chrome. Copper is non-existant. Billet shift levers... one has fared pretty well, the other is crap... the one that went bad was the rear, the one subject to less exposure.

Chrome fork legs, near fender mounts.. peeling, again, no copper in the plating.

Rumble collection mirrors: JUNK! Rumble collection saddlebag latches: Not as JUNK, but still bad... one side anyway... QC issues.

Blade wheels.. EXCELLENT.. of course, ALCOA probably finishes the wheels before HD takes them.

And in Hawaii, HD claims the environment is too harsh and will not cover chrome issues.

A balanced engine, that way the moco could only make one engine in the 96-103-110 sizes.  It would save making a different engine for the touring bikes and be ultra smooth.

A crankshaft without runout....

Improve customer service.... (both skills and attitude)

Apply the warranty fairly and consistently...

Make it easier to climb the food chain when necessary.

That'll do for now...   :)    ;)    :2vrolijk_21:

The average rider is a male about 6 foot, give or take a few inches, and the stock handlebars are always too short. How about a stock handlebar that is made for the average rider? Especially on the touring models where it is expected that the rider will be riding for longer periods of time in a hunched over position with the stock bars causing much discomfort.

We should beable to pick out a new bike we what and do the changes we need to do to it to make it fit rite with out extra cost
changing out handle bars, seat, lowering it. or what ever it take to get it to fit right/
even the passager boards, if we are going spend $37,000 plus we should get a bike that at lease fits us.

We are buying top of the line and as you can tell by reading commets here on CVO forum everybody takes a lot of pride in your product, we would like for you to show
as much , I would think you would send out a THANK YOU for every CVO buyer.

Not going into how we earn our money so we could buy your top of the line bike, But what i read here on the CVO Forum a lot of the buyers had to do  a lot of exta hours of work, and went without  on other things. (and i see some have finance these bikes, in todays market they are really putting it on the line)

I would like to say also Thank you for the 2011 I have, I'm looking forward to may care free miles. as I had on my last  3 bikes (all HD)

Own up to your mistakes: examples '07-'08 110 engine, cranks, compensators, the list continues.  Have some consistency between dealers - this one says they won't cover it, this one will if you bitch enough.  I know they are all independant but after every name is "Harley Davidson".

Change the freaking oil filter location so the old oil will stop dripping onto the front engine rubber mount!
