OH, I forgot that I also just got this Mustang Super Touring Wide Vintage Seat with a rider backrest and the matching TP passenger backrest with 2" extend arms. It is like sitting in a rolling La-Z-Boy!!! SO comfy, and Mustang has the BEST rider backrest design in the industry. The backrest receiver is built right into the seat, so no bracket has to be bolted onto the bike (makes changing seats super-easy... not that I ever WANT to change the seat). The rider backrest simply slips into the backrest receiver in the seat, and is fully adjustable front/back and up/down, and the back swivels at the top of the mounting post. It THIS rider backrest won't fit your back, then nothing will...

I love the orange-flame-stitched Corbin DualTour that I have had on the Honey Badger... but the rear seat was like sitting on a 2x10 for the BSR. The new Mustang is a full 14' wide in the rear, and nice and soft. I don't know if I'm going to keep the Corbin or not... will make that decision later.

Momma gave the Mustang her approval on our 3-hour ride up to Lake Burton last evening, and my daughter gave it her approval on our 11-HOUR ride last weekend up into TN and NC!

I had a Mustang Regal Touring Seat very much like this one on the old '95 police E-Glide, and they both loved that one, too. But I didn't want the "plush" look on the Honey Badger. The smooth look of this seat is perfect for the HB, I think. I knew I couldn't go wrong with a Mustang seat!

i've been looking at the same cooling fans myself. don't those head bridge covers block the air from the fans?  blowing thru the tunnel in the head is part of the design.

lets here how they perform.

Hey Ken. I've had the mustang seat from day one. Great seat and  so comfy.  You'll be able to ride all day. I also got the same TP back rest.  Great stuff.   :2vrolijk_21:    I was never a Corbin fan as far as comfort and long range riding. .

Yeah TN... I noticed that when I installed them, and have been wondering about whether those finned bridges will need to go, to let the fans do their thing properly. I am going to talk to Jason about that.

Ken those fans look really nice.  They don't even look like an add on at all.  Really impressive.  :2vrolijk_21:  But your Mustang seat is really sweet.  :P. Is it wider towards the nose that makes putting your feet down on the ground flat footed more difficult.  :nixweiss:  I just wish Mustang would bring the leather down further on the driver backrest to cover up all the hardware.  :-\

I don't know if that true or not, Stu. They ARE finned, like the cylinder heads themselves, and fins help radiate heat away. They may in fact do a better job of radiating heat then the flat surfaces they cover up. Who knows?

NGH, love the look of the seat.  I just ordered the mustang KTP backrest myself.  The misses is going to love I am sure.
Bike looks great overall.  Not near as big as many others.

I finally made my bsr happy with the mustang backrest ..she loves the longer arm support and the seat is good for her also.   Like just,  I would like to see them hide the mounting hardware.  I bought their chrome nuts and they do look a lot better than using the stock ones.  I also trimmed back the plastic fasteners that were exposed when the seat was mounted.   Overall very comfortable.  :2vrolijk_21:

Hey, Ken,

Just wondering how the fans are working out.  Have you made any temp comparisons?

I contacted Wards Parts Werks a while ago, and they said they were back ordered about 3 months because of demand.  Sounds like you got yours really quick, though.  They said that they might make a batch of granite finished fans. Is that what you have, or are yours the black?  WardsPartsWerks also said they were going to do a chrome batch.  I'm wondering if the chrome would distract from the motor, or look good.  Watcha think?

We're in SoCarolina (Anderson/Greenville) this week, visiting the in-laws and outlaws.  If I see a dressed up Hot Citrus SG speeding down the road, I'll honk.

Shoot, Dan... not only have I not made any temp comparisons, I haven't even been ON the bike in the last two weeks! Sad but true. Work and house hunting have taken up all of my time lately. Plus, I caught a cold last Friday, and am just now feeling near normal again... felt like I had been hit by a Mack truck al week.  :nixweiss:

I have the "CVO Granite" fans, with the granite screens. I wanted them to be as low key as possible - and being all Granite, they are nearly invisible unless you are really looking for them.

You won't see me riding this weekend... we're heading down to Destin, FL for the Labor Day weekend with friends. We WILL be making the trip in Bambi - my wife's hot little Race Red 350Z Touring convertible, though. That car handles like no other car i have ever driven - including the Vettes, Camaro IROC, etc I've owned in the past. It's more fun than DECENT people NEED!

And I will be driving!  :bananarock: :apple: :cucumber: :orange: :pepper: :2vrolijk_21:

Sorry to hear you've been down.  Hope you recover quickly and have a safe and fun trip.

Ha!  That must be so it will match the "low key" horn cover. :D

Well, you need to get rid of Bambi ASAP, so you're not corrupted.  We need to keep you decent folks around to keep the rest of us in line.

Murph - I didn't see your post until just now... But we DID have dinner the first night here at McGuire's, on the recommendation of the guys at the liquor store. I had the Seafood Platter, with the Calamari and the Reuben Eggrolls as appetizers for the table. Awesome dinner!

Had to pass on the microbrews tho... as I was "ineligible" to drink that particular evening...

Dan - I NEVER said anything about ANYTHING being "low key" on the Honey Badger EXCEPT the fans...

And if you're expecting ME to keep anyone in line here... You're in serious trouble!
