Want to make my tour pack quick detach
« on: December 03, 2011, 07:59:16 PM »

I just bought an 08 CVO Electraglide Ultra and I would like to make the rear tour pack quick detatch.  The dealer said the stereo would not work if I removed the tour pack, because of the amp mounted under it. I'm hoping someone can tell me this is possible, and tell me how to do it.

Thanks, Chris

At the top of most boards you will find a "Sticky Threads - Find Sticky Threads Here..." thread that will have answers to a lot of questions you may have. This particular board has the following in that thread...

The following are all threads dealing w/making Tourpaks removable...

Thank you for the direction. I tried the search function but was unable to locate the info. I didn't notice the Sticky.

I just had an idea that has not been discussed in any of the stickies. What if the tour pack speackers were removed and replaced with saddle bad lid speakers and the amp is moved to the saddle bag. Would that allow use of the factory amp and simplify the conversion?

If nobody has tried this, I'll post pics and let you all know how I make out. At least the theory sounds simple enough.
