When my husband saw that some times my light did not go off, he removed it. Now I have no light to go back to the shop with, and say can you replace it. Do you think they might swap it with out it being attached to the bike? [smiley=nixweiss.gif]
That's exactly what I did Candy
I told the dealer I was fed up with the darned thing staying on - so I took it out of there and presented it loose - for replacement as per the service sheet
They disputed there was a recall - but replaced it (with the lovely LED item) anyway
Bear in mind there aren't too many CVO bikes in UK and I guess they have me figured for a high roller who is gonna spend mucho denario in their store (Wrong - oh so wrong...)
I am also having a replacement rear shock - leaking oil
and a new horn - gone croaky
I already had replaced
2 wheels (F & R) - flaking chrome
a rear brake master cylinder - leaking brake fluid
4 new footboards - flaking chrome
a new transmission housing!!!! - Original broke at the swing arm pivot housing [smiley=nixweiss.gif]
rear brake arm - flaking chrome
but they won't warranty the LHS stealth hand grip [smiley=nixweiss.gif] - chrome(?) is through to the copper but the RHS grip is OK and this is at 15,000 miles
The derby cover - flaking paint - got a repaint - OK, I guess
Out of warranty now and I already have an independant mech lined up for the next service and he will fit the gear drive 575's and the new oil pump etc
Also will go to the replacement fork springs - Progressive probably - with emulators to match the 12" 440's on the back - they are great - just fitted on Sunday but love them already
I got them for $365 on eBay (plus shipping) - what a bargain [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]
Oh yeah, the last thing, and this really shook me
I changed from V&H ovals to S&S stainless BIG ovals (ugly but quiet) and asked the dealer - this is the biggest dealer in Europe I believe - to do a dyno run and tune and set up the PClll to the new mufflers
I asked them to tune for economy - the bike is plenty quick enough but it hurts my wallet each time I stop for fuel - typically $25 per fill up - so tune for economy please.
Ha!
I asked to see the AFR on the dyno printout - "Oh, we can't do that"
WHAT??
"It's an old dyno and doesn't have a linked sniffer" they said - looking somewhat sheepish
"How the heck can you tune the bike then?" - I asked
"Well we do it by experience... and successive runs with small adjustments each time"
Yeah - Right
Needless to say - I didn't pay for the "dyno tune" and I'l be off to another independant tuner next week
It's no wonder several of the Brit HD Dealerships are going under or changing hands just recently
They just haven't got a clue
Got the bike home and had to tighten both forward (crash-bar mounted) footpegs - why were they loose - there was nothing to do near them??
Ah well - dealer relationship is over now - it's time to move on with guys I know and trust (who won't rip me off quite so much either)
Cheers
Dave
