Flash2Pass is much cheaper and works great, you can find them on ebay and you will save a bunch! (if I'm not mistaken, I believe they manufacture or did, the H-D factory models). I had the factory model on my '04 SEEG and have used/using the Flash2Pass on my '10 SESG and '11 SESG. The only issue I had was distance reception which the H-D model also has isssues with and I called the factory and they told me for a nominal fee, I could either wait for them to ship me one or go to my local Radio Shack, which I did. My range is much improved and my garage door is fully opened by the time I am ready to pull in.

If you have a new CVO (or non CVO) that no longer has this option you can also purchase a Flash2Pass which is much cheaper and works great, you can find them on ebay and you will save a bunch! For those who don't like the idea of an additional device plugged in in the ol' garage, you can also take a regular remote from your garage door opener company and open it up, locate the contacts that the switch button operates, solder a couple wires to them, button it all back up and mount it out of sight in the fairing or under a side panel, and then mount a weatherproof momentary switch in a convenient location and attach the wires.  This method eliminates any interference issues between the Harley receiver and the garage door opener that can drastically reduce range.  It will also eliminate the need to replace the nice fancy wall controls on some of the new door openers to make the opener work with the wired Harley device.

Just thought I'd mention the alternative for those who like to tinker.  If you already have an unused extra remote for your garage door opener, it's a very inexpensive alternative, as in less than $10 and maybe an hour of your time, and there are no compatibility issues to rear their ugly heads.  I had my previous bike set up this way and it worked much better than the Harley device in my SEEG.

.....add a dropping resistor and tie into 12v power (switched or not), and you never need to worry about getting in your fairing just to change the remote's dead batteries

For those who have already seen this video, I apologize for posting it again.  But for some reason every time someone starts a garage door opener thread the first thing that pops into my mind is this ingenius device.

But the maintenance on such a device can be outrageous!

Gentlemen, I just tried to install my garage door opener per the instructions by RedDevil and it worked fine, for 3 times. Now it will not work. I tried resetting it by redoing all of the instructions and it worked once but not again. Might any of you have any further guidance that you can give me.

Thank you... Firewalker.

Perhaps there is interference or the signal is blocked.  I had to mount my receiver between a fridge and a utility cabinet because the outlet was there.  Guess I could add an extension cord and move it but I'm lazy, lol.  Anyway it is sensitive and sometimes when I am leaving or coming back it does not work and I have to move the cycle a few feet from where I was before the receiver picks up the signal.  If you haven't moved you bike might try that and see if that helps.

Same here! Except it did not work after resetting like the above stated.  The light blinks once when I hit the Hi/Lo switch but the door does nothing.  I have a Medium duty lift (three button) on a 16X12 door and had a garage guy order the part to accept the H-D opener.  I used it a few times and then it stopped.  I bought a new/used receiver and it accepts the signal from the bike but the door does not go up.   :nixweiss:  I called the guy back and said the new part must have died and so he came out and put a paper clip on the H-D wires from the receiver and the door went up and down. I hate when crap doesn't work right.

Any Ideas.

Luckily you found an alternate source for the paper clip...I'd hate to see what the Moco charges for one!

Yeah no kidding but I need to find a beautiful young lady to touch it to the wires every time I need it to work.
