Really sucks to hear/read this. :( As has been said/shown it doesn't take long to get the saddlebags off and w/o any identifying marks/numbers on them it is hard to prove ownership if they show up for sale somewhere. >:(

To steal the bags, does one have to be able to access the inside of the saddlebag  :nixweiss: cause I was thinking that if the lids were locked, how does one get to the pin to remove it and steal the bags.

I think a 7/16 or 3/8 wrench will do the trick by simply un-screwing the brackets that lock the bags.

Unbelievable. Didn't realize it was that easy to steal the bags.

I think the comments about the alarm have a lot of merit, come to think of it.  I guess awareness of the limitations on the locks & alarm, and picking your spots will be my best defense against this happening again.

I plan to slow them down, but we all know in the end if the thief wants your bags or your bike, they can get it.  I'm gonna re-think what components I'm going to put on the bike, where I park, & when.

I think the Brukus system is probably the best. The bolts are a PITA for sure  with the goofy  torks wrench. But I suppose that's what it's supposed to do.  I recently took mine off and destroyed them while doing so.  I think I'll order another set after seeing this.  :nixweiss:

Just be aware that the remote pager requires the Smart Siren II, so you'll need that in addition to the pager.  Unless something's changed, the bike does NOT come with the Smart Siren II.

The Brukus bolts are a small hassle to remove in order to get the bags off, but worth it.  Once you get accustomed to removing them, it's no big deal.

Too bad scum like that always gets away so they don't get the Louisville Slugger beat down that they deserve. The nerve and in broad daylight. Maybe they are on camera someplace. Did I say that out loud...I mean slap there wrists and tell them to not do that again. Just kidding I would beat the chit out of him. Guess I am gonna rethink getting the Brukus stuff.

The dealer is telling me that I already have the Smart Siren II and all I need to do is add the pager.  In any case I think I will do both and just be more aware of where I park.

FYI - I wouldn't trust what the dealer is telling you (they normally don't come w/the Smart Siren II), you can check for yourself by looking at the siren/alarm and see if there is a wire (antenna) coming off it.

If you have the wire (antenna) then you have the Smart Siren II... if you don't have the wire (antenna) you don't have it.

Here is the most complete specification information that I was able to find - 2012 Harley-Davidson FLHTCUSE7 CVO Ultra Classic Electra Glide

About 1/4 of the way down the page it states the following...

H-D® SMART SECURITY SYSTEM WITH SIREN AND AUTOMATIC BIKE LOCK

The factory installed next-generation security system with siren features a hands-free fob that automatically arms and disarms the vehicle electronic security functions as you approach and walk away from the bike. Stick the fob on your ignition key ring and let it do all the work. For additional peace of mind, the automatic bike lock features a key fob that locks the ignition, Tour-Pak and saddlebags so you won't have to worry about leaving your valuables tucked away on your ride. It's this attention to detail and rider security that make Harley-Davidson® motorcycles unique.

If you are referring to this...
...

It's this attention to detail and rider security that make Harley-Davidson® motorcycles unique.

Then that is not the Smart Siren II.

Once again the amateurs know more about the bikes than the "professionals" working at your authorized and factory trained dealership.  What a big surprise. :o

The CVO's come with a siren, but it is not the Siren II with FM transmitter function that works with the pagers.  To use the pager you will need to order both the pager and the Siren II with the built in FM transmitter and antenna as Fired00d noted.
