Thank you very much HAIRD. That was very nice of you to comment. I am well aware that I'm totally nuts over this "re-aquisition", but I feel so blessed to have been able to find such a perfect example after trading her away in '03.

Scarlet2 - you're gonna wanna pick up a set of these when your budget recovers. Great bags made to match the WG2. Have had a pair for 4 years and they've traveled with me for 31K miles. Great bags!

Wow....Did I say, "WOW!"???  Those are nice, "Buy Early". I just got a backpack yesterday that'll have to do for now for trips to the supermarket, etc. ...We won't be doin' much long distance rides on her anyway. I sold my 03' Ultra a little over a year ago with 93,236 miles on her (second powertrain at 86,222 ...H-D remanufactured TC-88). We were about done with motorcycle touring, so my wife bought a new C6 Vette for long "rides" (her retirement present to herself). I get to be her chauffeur when we do road trips, and it's just a little easier on these old bones for "LONG RIDES". The FXDWG2 thing was just fulfilling a long lost dream...My Little Red Dragon is just gonna' mostly be for Saturday nights and the occasional "Bike Night"....but mostly to just sit and stare at for the time being.

WELCOME   :welcome_005:     :welcome_005:

Congrats on finding your dream ride. AGAIN! I know the heartbrokeness when you get rid of something you love. I've sold 2 bikes in mid 70's. first was triumph bonneville 750, in mint-cherry cond. Guy wrecked it the first week, came by asking if I had any spare parts. broke my heart. second was kz1000 with custom murrell painted on tank, rear fender & side covers. had $4000 in motor work. guy who bought it never had ridin anything bigger than yamaha 500 verago. so I changed the counter shaft sprkt back to stock ,so he wouldn't kill himself. he changed it back in 2 wks,but didn't bend the tabs up on locking nut. spun countershaft off & thru side of motor. then just destroyed bike. Again,I was heartbroken. I now keep all things I cherish (guns, bikes &wife). I buy a gun ,I'm keepin it. I now own 4 bikes. 02 heritage,07deluxe (wifes 25th anniv. from me), 08 sg (105anniv), & 2012 seuc. bros. rides sg ,pays insurance, & routine maint. Wife wants me to sell 02 heritage. I want to give it to 25 yr. old daughter.she loves to ride with me,love to see her on her own bike.
anyway, great to have you on board.     :2vrolijk_21:

enjoy your "new" ride & the great people on the site     :orange: :mango: :bananarock:

Yep, Sounds like you know where I'm at.

If had had kept all the stuff I loved but sold anyway, I'd have to have a pretty big storage facility (and that's just for the drum sets and custom snare drums).

I wanted a Triumph Bonneville (or even a Tiger) soooo bad in high school, but saved my paper route money (big paper route in Miami) and bought a brand new Cushman Silver Eagle Scooter when I was in my senior year of high school in 1965. I'd give anything to have that puppy back. I sold it when I quit school 2 months before graduating and joined the Army (My Mother about killed me when I came home and told her what I'd done). My best friend got killed in Viet Nam, and I was gonna' go over there and revenge his death. They never sent me to Nam...The missles in my M.O.S. were too big for such a small place. Went to Germany for 2 years as my "OVERSEAS" assignment instead. Bought a BMW over there, that, again...I WISH I STILL HAD. I'll have my "NEW" WG2 until the end.

yep, bought 69 z-28 used in high school. parents had a cow. gonna get in trouble for speed, gonna get killed etc. kept it 9 mos, sold it for $600 profit. walked in house shaking 600 big ones (so proud)bragging bout no tickets, no wrecks. sure wish I had it back now. I did later buy 68 rs. sold it to after rebuildin it from ground up. like to have it also. My first street ride was from USAF capt. I hung around with. it was 650 tiger. then I bought the 750 bonne from his friend (another USAF capt) both were pilots. So yeh, been down that road of heartbreaks. I love this site. no real bashing each other. everyone seems to be cordial.

Absolutely agree. Terrific forum. I truly think that everyone on here actually appreciates the fact that these are "special" motorcycles and all feel pretty good about being in a position to own one ...and you guys don't mind sharing their experience and knowledge with novices (even "GEEZER" novices such as myself).

Other H-D forums (in my Humble Opinion) don't seem to recognize that "NOT EVERYBODY IS A MOTOR HEAD". I was trying to get some info on another forum (posted over 2 weeks ago) ....just some general questions about the motor and all I got was wise cracks about my limited (very limited) mechanical knowledge. It's really NO BIG DEAL, as I am the first to "rag" on myself for my limited knowledge. I've already learned a great deal on here, but there is a special language that the motorheads use that takes a while for me to figure out.

I'm one of those guys that just rides (not so much, anymore) and lets the H-D dealer deal with drivetrain issues and/or upgrades.

I recently posted on the twin cam section of the "CVO TECHNICAL" portion here & I'm hoping someone will give me an answer to some of my questions.  I feel pretty confident that THIS is the only place where I'll get an answer. They may be stupid questions, but when you don't know, and have heard sooo many conflicting answers (even from the same H-D dealer) it kind of makes me nervous. My FXDWG2 with the little 88 T.C. might be old technology, and NOT up to what's out there, but it's very special to me for many reasons.

Anyway, Thanks for your replies... I used to be a Camaro fanatic (owned 4 from 70 thru 79). My Dad bought a 67 Z-28 (first one in Florida) when I was in the Army. He sent me pics (I remember that the factory supplied headers came in the trunk...they had to be installed after purchase...some kind of GM Factory/Trans-Am Series rule). Had a little 302 in it, but was bad fast according to my little brother. He sold it before I came home as my Mom didn't like the fact that he got 2 speeding tickets the first month he owned it.

A good friend of mine had a FXDWG3 at 95" with a Mikuni, it was a "Rocket" pretty close to the 103". These motors respond well to a 2 into 1 pipe.
