I am newbie ....and have never thought for one second since I have joined this site that anyone has been negative-Just the opposite -honest - shoot you straight -go out of there way to help -where else are you going to get a straight answer if you have a issue ?? the dealer? that's a joke . Sometimes the truth hurts....
So thanks to all the "cry babies" for helping me because my 2013 CVO ultra was not as fortunate as yours and has issues-ya-ya I know  "they all do that"

Does this count as a positive comment?  

         Somewhere in the future perhaps every product will be perfect, every company will treat all the customers like kings and queens, and no one will have reason to bitch about anything.  In the here and now, however, there is still a vast difference between the best and worst products, the best and worst corporations, the best and worst dealers/retailers, etc.   Anyone who comes on one of these sites and expects to read only glowing comments about their Harley is delusional.  And anyone who prefers to have everything sugar coated and all the bad stuff glossed over should probably just read fairy tales in the kiddie section of the public library.

If it weren't for the comments and complaints of those who refuse to drink the Kool-Aid, do any of you really think Harley would have made any attempts to fix the many problems inherent in their designs?  Rather than bitch about those of us who bring their deficiencies to light, the Kool-Aid crowd should thank the "negative" folks for the improvements they eventually do receive.  Harley isn't some mythical benevolent operation, it's a corporation with a main purpose of making big profits.  If they could do so while still selling you the old tech and the bikes that leaked a quart of oil a week, they certainly would.

After reading these postings I just want to jump on my CVO and ride to the dealership and HUG all the employees.   At least the girls in the clothing section.

I have been a Screamin Eagle Rider since 2000. I loved every mile. Then I bought the 04' And loved every mile. Then I bought the 10' with the 110 engine. I heard all the top end noise and was scared to death. Thanks to this forum I have calmed down a bit. I learned that I am not alone. And that not all the 110's scatter. That is somewhat of a relief to me.
I also went and looked at the 14's this past weekend. I like them. The new style of the saddle bags and tour paks make the 13's and older look dated. This really bums me out because my next bike was gonna be the 12' Ultra O/B/W.  Now I am rethinking things.

Don't have anything positive or negative to say but I will agree with Ace that I too looked at the 14's this past weekend and the 13 and older bikes "look" dated for sure with the new design of the 14's.

While I have not had any major issues with my CVO it is informative to read what others issues other people have had.  It gives me more knowledge of what can go wrong and what to keep an eye on.  If I can catch a potential issue before it becomes a major issue than that is important to me.

I think part of the issue is Harley's changes do not necessarily improve their reliability.  Take the 110 for example.  It took them 2 years to get the engine some what right.  This was a simple "upgrade" from a currently designed engine.

I did have chrome issues, seat issues, and tire issues.  It is simply frustrating to have to correct these type of issues on a $33,000 bike.

I'm glad the MoCo didn't offer a bike that looks as good as Ken's for 2014.
If they had he would have to start over.
Ken, the MoCo was thinking of you and wanted to save you money.

  Thanks for the kind compliment, Chip. Save me money they DID! Honestly, I am SO HAPPY with the Honey Badger... riding her just makes me GIDDY! Last week's TTS retune has made her even more fun, too! 

Would I like to have CANBUS? Sure... but my bike runs just fine with the now-"antique" J1850 ECM. The new front end doesn't matter to me, as I already upgraded to TD AK-20s. The new bags and TP are very nice... not so sure about the new "baboon head" fairing (see the "Parts Catalog" thread!). The '14 CVO Limited paint is quite nice... but frankly I like the Honey Badger's better. And I already have a RT 665 with XM, mounted right where I want it, with free lifetime updates. Nothing else on the new CVO Limited would make me want to fork over $39K for one... and as you said, have to start all over on mods to make the darn thing RUN the way I want it to.

Ginger is the best HD I've had so far.  Sure there are some issues as I've had with just about every other MoCo product I've ever purchased but I've NEVER been stranded by one in the middle of Bugtussle, IA.  I've always made it to where I was going and home again.  Ride great (but could be better); run great (but can be improved upon...can't really blame the MoCo on that one...they have to meet sound AND emittion standards while keeping the product a Harley...what's why aftermarket performance parts are everywhere); looks better than anything out there and there are some great looking bikes around (including the new Indian models) so yes, I'm happy with my FLHXSE3 and plan to keep her for many years to come....

Well, DUH, Howard! How could ya NOT like sweet Ginger? 

I really like the new Indian Chief Vintage, too... No, I LOVE it... but ONLY as a SECOND bike. And then I'd have to learn how to mod it and retune it...

Yeah, That... I'm heading to my first CVO GTG in Maggie Valley next month... and I can't WAIT to meet everyone face to face!     

I ain't goin' NEAR that dang THONG, tho... I don't care if I AM a GTG ROOKIE! NAA... GAA... DAA...

If you like it, then buy it! The '12 SEUC in the O/B/W is a KILLER look. They really did a great job on that paint, I think. I looked strongly at one myself before I bought the Honey Badger.

Thank you SBB!  I wish I could go to Maggie Valley and meet you guys! and of course seeing the  "Honey Badger".. but have a wedding to go too.

Folks on this site are passionate about their rides (cars, boats, planes, and motorcycles). They are passionate when they shell out the cash to get them and passionate when they don't function as they should. If you take all of the ride report threads, the modification threads, the GTG threads, and the photo threads as positive threads about the bikes, the complaint threads don't seem so overwhelming.

When something this expensive fails, it's bound to get you wound up. Especially if it could have been avoided.

Ooooh, that's what it is.  It's all you negative Nellies out there that have me feeling so bad about my ride.  I think that I'll just start reading all the "warm and fuzzy" threads on the site and maybe go buy a new H-D banner to hang up in my bedroom so I can salute it every night before I go to bed.  Excuse me now while I go get me a new H-D tattoo.

Just be glad you didn't have to experience 2007. It cost some of us the price of 2 CVO's to fix all the issues with upgraded parts so we could keep riding them. Some had more than one engine replaced for poor design. And every year since I have watched others still rebuilding new bikes to eliminate the problems. Granted there are at least a few that drew the long straw. And to you that did congratulations enjoy.

Had a 2007 SERK. No problems in 45K miles. Have a 2011 CVO SG with 32K. No problems. Also have a 2013 CVO RG with 9K miles. No problems. Maybe I'm just lucky?

For Me, I learn and gain valuable information for maintaining my Ride.
If all CVO Owners simplky sat around the campfire signing HD Kumbyah songs, I would have missed out on a tremendous amount of valuable help to myself.

Be happy that you have never ever encountered any issue with your CVO.

All I ask is to Be tolerant to those CVO Owners much less fortunate than you have been.

Spending $30K to $40K on and HD and then having issues tends to fade away that smile on the face.
